NON-PRACTISING ALLOWANCE FOR POLITICIANS-no IPL
by RAKESH YASHROY on Apr 29, 2010 08:10 AM

Too many beans have been spilled for politicians taking over sports bodies, instead of looking after the welfare of the people whom they represent. In order to discourage them from snatching high positions in sports, they may be given NPA on lines of doctors, so that they desist from meddling with sports bodies. It will be good for Indians to shine in sports.

THE WAY FORWARD
by chandramouli s on Apr 29, 2010 08:02 AM

BCCI started IPL and two franchiesees ie Chennai and Punjab were given to BCCI members, the mute question is how can they have the cake and eat it too, so it is not enough if Modi goes for his misdeeds, the action may have been initiated because he didnt toe the line of Shashi Taroor but still he had comittments in Punjab and Jaipur teams, therefore he should definetly go, alongwith him
MrSreenivasan (CSK) and IS Bindhra (Kings) should either sell of their franchisees or they should quit their posts in BCCI if they want to keep their franchisees.
They cant have the cake and eat it too - they should give this much respect to the public who have made IPL so popular - they should be either satisfied with money or power which is not a bad bargain.

BCCI and IPL are not professional organizations

They are rich organizations with self seeking politicians in charge - I am sure that they will not handle IPL professionally - unless you start defining enriching oneself as a profession

BCCI and IPL should be brought under Government control and IAS officers should be appointed to run the show. This way, we will have a clean and transparent administration.

The 'success' of the IPL

was not because of Lalit Modi. It was not because of anyone else on the IPL board either. It was only because the Indian commoner is so stupid that he will part with his money to catch a glimpse of his 'idols' in the cinema and cricket world !!

Quite true - Rs. 40000 ticket for an IPL match - best seats!! It is either some one with too much money or stupidity.

You are correct. Administration of IPL should be handed over to an IAS officer under the supervision of an Empowered Group of Ministers.

Ratnakar Shetty assures IPL will be managed professionally. The question however is to which profession the new managers belong.

Finally the general feeling among commonmen is that where money is there, politician is there. So it is difficult to have any thing in this country including prostitution, politicians will be there. So the statement of Shetty can nor=t be bought

If any one asks what a 'Stud Bull' will do, do we need to Answer. Likewise Modi knew only one thing - Solid Hard Work. It is unfortunate that he thought of himself as the ONLY stud bull in this Country!

He has failed in many of his earlier ventures but was still a man for hard work. Where he went wrong was when he started to stamp on others toes. It is said that the most difficult part of flying a Plane is the take off & landing. While cruising at high altitude it can be on auto pilot or withh the deputy on command! To me take off is easier than landing. Our friend 'crashed landed' himself after such nice 'take off'. I would still give him the fullmark for making a grand success of the IPL. Let some one else 'fly the kite' when the wind is soaring for IPL.

The root cause is one person!. No one is even mentioned his name. Modi, Shetty, Reddy etc...are just when we see from outside...

The root cause man.. the main trouble maker..is happily sitting in the same seat...

God save India!
