Warnie has a point!
by Crickbufff on Apr 29, 2010 08:38 AM

But how many would like to see Sachin play for Bangalore or Deccan for eg? and Ganguly for Kochi? or Sehwag for Pune?
It is a tough choice!
I think the icon player concept should be left untouched!
So Sachin continues to part of Mumbai, Sehwag - Delhi, Ganguly -KKR, Yuvi - Punjab;
and the rest of the players (foreign and indian) need to be auctioned!
That way Gilly and Warne could end up playing against Symmo and Bhajji! who knows??
;))
As for Hayden, I think his skills are waning! He might be picked up for much less this time! So would Gilly!
But the suprise package could be Symmo! And I think most teams still want him!!

teams will loose their flavour if major changes are made in the teams ...... imagine sachin playing for kochi, ganguly playing for mumbai, and yuvaraj playing for kolkatta ...... doesnt sound good ! atleast 6-7 players should be retained in every team.

Rajasthan are dead now. Without Warne, they are going to struggle. But Warne has no rights to talk about other franchise teams. Its been hard work to build the teams with the bonding, team spirit, etc. Teams should retain 4 Indian players and 2-3 foreigners. For Mumbai, Sachin, Zaheer, Harbhajan, Saurabh Tiwary, Malinga, Pollard and Bravo should be retained. Chenai should retain Dhoni, Raina, Vijay, Ashwin, Bollinger, Morkel and Murali (if Murali wants to continue).

LOL !!! now he is writing some recommendations for IPL 4, seems he is upset not getting any bigger chunk of those big figures revolving everyday in media in the last 3 editions. No shame Warny ... everyone wants money, and people like u just put down ur pants for that.

You are perfect fool .Media serves its interest other wise thet dont shamelesly cover SRK and Dada who are good for nothing .If SRK thinks he is promoting a brand KKR he has to realise performance on the field matters not the hype -my name is khan
Warne is a legend he does not require hype .he is a cricketer par excellence and he has the knowledge to comment upon .Moneybags can only invest their motive is pure and simple gamble and gain .Ultimatly the performance of the player that matter to get the returns for their investment.
Warne is professsional and he earns his lively hood from the game and he is perfectly right

Well said, Hydra. This chap Arnab has a grudge ag Warnie. Shane Warne is a legend, one of tne top 5 all time legends of the 20th centory behind Sir Don, Sir Gary, Sir Hobbs and ahead of Sir Viv. He has one of the finest cricket brains of all times, a fact lauded by such eminent people like Ian Chappell, Imran Khan, Ian Botham, Gavaskar, Sir Viv. etc. What he tells comes from his heart and for the love of the game. He has made enough money and earned more fame than most others. Even after another 200 years, people will talk of him.

Shane Warne is a proud man proud of his reputation and conscious of the same. He plays the game hard and fairly, gives his all to the match and never runs away from the battle. No wonder he was one of the most toughest cricketers on the field, playing with intensity.

He earned money from IPL fairly and legally thr his fine performances on the field, HE played well, bowled well and most importantly he captianed well. Know that he led RR to victory in the 1st IPL edition. Warnie was one of the star posters of IPL, gave it the advertisement it needed to become a brand. Even Lalit Modi acknowledged the same in an interview. Finally he was not for nothing called the magical genius who made the game dazzling during his career. Warnie like Sir Vivian Richards is one of a kind, once in a lifetime.

Mate, you must understand clearly what he meant to say. By recommendations, he does not mean his is recommended and must be implemented at any costs. All he meant to say that his views or personal suggestions just as any cricket great gives. After all he is a man who truly loves India and Indian cricketers.

Warnie is a cricketing great and one of the finest cricket brains of all times. What he says carries weight and a lot of wisdom. It comes from his experience of playing top flight cricket for 20 years.

Warnie's love affair with India began in 1992 debuting for Aus AG India in tests. Since then it has been a love affair between India and Warnie.

I suppose he meant business ideas, please read the article properly, he is talking about player contracts, retention etc. not anything about cricket. Whatever he means is just monetory involvements, player retention, exchanges, buyouts all involves only money. U dont need cricket brains for that, business ideas is he what he wants to suggestion, straight talk he means money. He might come up with some new faces from Aus & NZ to get them auctioned & make some quick money. And u r right not just his words, his whole body has a lot of weight now. Regarding morality & integrity to the game of cricket please dont site Warne as an example, we all know how honest he is ... drugs, match fixing, ball tampering, late night parties in tours, abusive behaviour on field he has all under his name. And regarding his love affair with India .. its more about Indian girls than Indian cricket ... ask his ex-wife how many times he got caught in act.

Whether its business or cricketing, his views make sense as it has wisdom in it. He has a fine cricket brain and his ideas will make a lot of differance. It may help IPL become a better brand and make it more exciting. Notice he had called for grounds in future with longer boundaries so that the game is more exciting and less easy sixes are conjured up. Even Gilly supported him in this regard. This idea is only for the betterment of the game and for Indian cricket too. If he says abt buyouts, etc it makes sense for it will come across useful and beneficial for the growth of IPL. and not for his personal sake. Abt money, who does not want to make that? even u too and what he does he is making legally and not illegally as is going on now in Modi case.

As for scandals, which cricketer has not got that to his name? Match fixing charges is all crap, he only gave some info on pitch to a person whom he never knew was a betting man. Ball tampering is also crap, who does not do it? Even Sachin is accused of the same. Late parties all enjoys, after all it is a stress buster (even u do it).

As for Indian girls it is all figment of your wild brain. He does not have any, he had affairs earlier, that is past and all have that incl many sportsmen.

Yes, he truly loves India (not for money or girls, he is well off) that comes from within. He admires Indian cricketers, people, culture, and all else.

No one is a saint incl you. Are u? Then why are u making a mountain out of something and paint him in a bad light. It is warped thinking on your part, wild and loose stuff.

ARNAB,, hahahaha..still persisting with crap stuff of which there is no substance. Your comments show the quality of your mind and your personality.

No one is a saint, even Saurav (had hisAffairs. withNagma, etc), Kumble or Sachin (Sachin has also ball tampering charges ag him as well as tax payments) have their flaws. Your talks need to be supplanted by proof of which u have none. OnlyBarking insanely. Shame on you!!

As for Warnie coming out of hotel room ofShamita, it is one of the most hilarious bluffs, typical of you, all cooked up. When did u imagine that? Have some more to tell? Oh, yeah, u asked me to check the news archives of him and Ponting. Never was there any, i found out. Another cry baby tale from a proven lier like you. The whole world regards Warnie as a legend, one of the five of 20th century along with Sir Richards , he will be known even after 300 years unlike you (not even after 1 day after u pop off)

As for Vivian Richards, he pays for his child maintenance. He had a mutual parting from his woman and keeps track of hisChild. Never did he shirk from this incident. Unlike you, running away and coming up with fib tales.

Do u think u are a saint? dont u run after money orGirls? dont u fingerGirls orOogle them? U do all that but lack the guts up front to tell them. No wonder all your comments expose you as u are - a proven and shameless lier. Carry on and keep imagining.

I guess cricket is a gentlemans game as they say it, so indisciplined people like Warne, Ponting dont make any respect except batsmen. I cannot think he is a genious unless he has a good character also, he had shown his cheapness a lot of times on field. And sounds a joke u want to ignore all his misdeeds .. had past affairs (may be he didnt knew that he was doing wrong when he was sleeping with someone else), he passed pitch info./team structure info to outsiders (he probably didnt knew he was a fool to talk confidential info to outsiders), everyone does late night parties (but rarely everyone get thrashed by local chaps teasing someone's gf, if u havnt heard of him, chekc the news archives how he & Ponting was beaten up for teasing a gentleman's wife & a young college fellows gf in kolkata some years back). Actually he played for charity u know for Rajasthan .... & u know when he is seen coming out of hotel room of Shamita Shetty early morning in Taj Hotel, Jaipur everyone (like u) thought he was playing ludo with her the whole night or may be discussing game plans for next day. Please dnt be blind ... he is a good cricketer, but never a legend. For proud Indian like me I will always praise Dada for taking us to the WC finals, will praise Kumble for a 10 on 10, will praise Sachin for a 200 in 1 day. Its pity to have aother Viv Richards in India who left unwanted childs to have them face the brunt of society throughout their lifetime. G

Looks like Warnie may join some other franchisee next season. Possibly Pune team or Kochi team where he may be given the captian as well as coach role. I feel he may take up Pune one. Whatever it is it will be a delight to have Warnie for one more season. He may play 1 more year of IPL next year.

Overseas players should be reduced!
by sandeep kumar on Apr 27, 2010 06:42 PM  | Hide replies

I dont understand why most of the teams have overseas players as captain/coach? I feel they are here just for the money, esp some of the aussie and SA cricketers. Hayden did absolutely nothing and they played him in every match. Gilchrist batting and captaincy was really poor and yet he was the captain and opener till the end. In fact, suman, vijay, harmeet are far better than some of these Aussies as they played with commitment and skill and it was because of them that these teams won the matches. Gibbs, morkel, smith too showed no intereset in the games. These guys should learn from Ganguly and tendulkar, who after 20 years still shows great commitment, and ganguly whpo inspite of not playing cricket, was great with the bat and the field. Pity he got no support from overrated guys like mccullum, gayle, hodge etc.

You are right, we saw what Shane bond was thinking sitting in Kolkatta wheil the bomb went off in Bengaluru. These people will drop their pants and run away at sight of some danger. Some of these retired from Int cricket, just to play in IPL for money. If you want evidence, just give them match fees of what their country gives and see how many will come.

Sandeep , i find your comment real funny. How can u blame Haydos or Gilly just because they flopped this season? they were badly out of form (it can happen to anyone, even Sachin or Saurav went thr that). Know that both Haydos and Gilly were top flight performers in the fiest 2 IPL seasons. Remember they were top scorers in the first 2 editions. Pls be a little mature in your comments. Dont just rush into things just like that>....
