Whither BCCI
by ravi prakash on Apr 27, 2010 05:41 PM

There is no need to have a body like the BCCI. India can do with a large number of Cricket Clubs the IPL franchisees can become. Why do we need a Centralized Body that is neither a regulator nor a commercial company. The BCCI has abrogated the rights of all cricket tournaments by controlling the stadia. It is time the Government sells these stadia to private companies who can then manage them on purely commercial basis and paying their taxes like any other company.
The politicians of all hues want to control sports knowing the cricket mania in India.
People pay huge ticket money to watch matches.

It was because of Throor that IPL fraud is exposed, otherwise politician would have continued harvesting money from it.

In today's newspaper it was written that his father wished that he did for Modi group what he did for IPL. I dont know if he meant that he wanted his son to swindle the family business.

There is nothing to prove. He tried to mislead Kochi consortium owners, then when it failed he tried to bribe them, and when that failed he tried to threaten them and when that failed he tried find mistakes in the bid documents to make them default so that he could hand over the team to the group that would oblige him. He disclosed Kochi consortium owners in his tweet in spite of the confidentiality clause. That in itself shows his nature and where he is headed for.
