Grow up Bombay
by Pushkala on Apr 26, 2010 01:20 PM  | Hide replies

As soon as Mumbai lost its crowd simply melted away as though they lost against p@rkistan ? Had this final happened in Chennai we would have stayed back to applaud our darling sachin even assuming we lost. No wonder Chennai crowd stands as the most knowledgeable out of the whole bunch out there. The 1999 test match against P@rkistan will still stand as a crowning glory of sporting behavior of Chennai. Grow up Bombay...

BUT WHEN INDIA NEEDS TO WIN , SACHIN DOES NOT SCORE.

Sachin just cannot play under pressure. Sachin was probably India's WORST CAPTAINS.

by Gautam Nichani on Apr 26, 2010 01:03 PM  | Hide replies

Since the semis when Mumbai qualified for the finals the media and all of mumbai were so one sided in their view of the match stating very regally the cup will be lifted by MI,including so called ckt experts were quick to write off anybody to play a final with MI. Fact is the final was played with a team which has been in a final before and lost it by one run and this team is the only team which has made it to the final four every year, so how do you write off this team as someone who shows up to loose the match but one fails to see the biggest cpataincy blunder by sachin by tampering with a batting order which has been suceesfull till now. Good job CSK well done and kudos you deserve it.

CHENNAI WON BECAUSE THEY HAVE LOCAL TALENT,

1.MURALIVIJAY,
2.BADRINATH,
3.ASHWIN,
4.ANIRUDH &
5.MUTHIAH MURALIDHRAN.

OUT OF PLAYING 11, FIVE WERE LOCAL PLAYERS.

THIS WAS THE MAIN REASON FOR THE WIN.

FRANCHISE'S(KKR,MUMBAI INDIANS) CANT DEPEND ON 4 FOREIGN PLAYERS & OTHER STATE PALYERS TO BECOME IPL CHAMPION.

LET THIS OVERHYPED FRANCHISES(KKR,MUMBAI INDAINS) 1ST FIND SOME THEIR OWN LOCAL STATE PLAYERS BEFORE DREAMING ABT BECMING IPL CHAMPION.

(IT WILL BE MORE APPROPRITATE..IF KKR TEAM IS OWNED BY A BENGALI & MUMABI INDIAN'S TEAM IS OWNED BY A MARATHI. LOOK AT CSK,RCB,DC THEY ARE ALL OWNED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE STATE GUYS)

Karuna

Right from the start Raina played very well, Doni did very well against the Punjab XI (best IPL 2010 match)and Hyden did so much damage to bolwers in the intial matches...
Bolinger won the match for CSK against Deccan Charges (bolinger is the good find this year).

I am very proud of the local talant ..but i wouldn't discount the contribution by Raina, Dohni, Hyden, Bollinger.

CSK did very well in last 5 matches, good batting and very good fielding

Doni is a good captine who lead the team from the front.

What it means is sachinc cannot play under pressure. He has the worst record as captain of India.

Check his records, how many runs he has made in major tournaments (ICC CT, WC) in the last 7 years. Tendulkar has been big failure in last 7 years.

India has won only 1 major cricket tournament - T20 WC in 2007. Tendulkar did not play.

Tendulkar has played in WC 2007, ICC CT 2005, ICC CT 2009 and had a miserable performance.

Dhoni vs Sachin.
by Anish on Apr 26, 2010 12:53 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni can bat at any place with all flexibility. If the team wants dhoni, he will come at any position and play for the team. If Dhoni also plays like sachin, means opening or One down, he would have also get a good record. But he only plays for the team..He does not think of this record book....

Sachin has a good batting records only when he plays as an opener. He cant handle pressure...There are only a few games he lead the team to victory till the last ball..Does sachin have any good captaincy record??...It will affect his batting, he himself admit that...But dhoni enjoys captainy....

So you mean to say that person who hits winning run in last ball is match winner? how can u expect opener to play till end? ru out of mind? then wat other players will do in team? play with your M_O_M's ugly A_S_S?? ROFL

Dhoni cant open because he cant handle fast swing bowling,he is good only when pitch is dead and flat and when 4th and 5th bowlers operate!! if he comes 1st down or opening he will have many ducks!! ROLF get a good cricketing knowledge.. dont show your foolishness here...ROFL

So inspite of the fact that dhoni bats more often at a lower batting position and sachin has played at the opening position many more times than dhoni has, dhoni completed 5000 runs playing 3 innings lesser than sachin. If inspite of this anybody wants to say that dhoni is no good, he has either very poor cricketing knowledge or he is insane. The number of times dhoni has performed in crunch situations in amazing and in that respect he is far ahead than sachin.

Re: Re: Dhoni vs Sachin.

Sushma, take a look at the following figures. That will help in removing your ignorance. whenever he has batted up the order dhoni has scored very well while batting as an opener (2 times), one down (16 times) or 2 down (13 times) i.e. a total of 31 innings he has scored 1825 runs (about 60 runs per innings!) with 3 centuries and 15 fifties with a strike rate of 100 runs per 100 balls. whenever he has come 1 down (not a very big difference between opener and 1 down) he has scored 993 runs in 16 innings with 2 100's and 6 50's. So your contention that dhoni will have a bad record batting up the batting order is nonsense. dhoni has proved time and again that he can bat at any position and score well with a good strike rate. On the contrary sachin could achieve so much in ODI only because he opens the innings. whenever he has batted at the position that usually dhoni comes sachin has failed. for example, at fifth position dhoni has played 38 innings (9 times notout) making 1560 runs with strike rate of 85 runs and 3 100's and 7 50's while sachin has played 36 innings (8 times notout) and scored 797 runs at 81 strike rate 0 100's and 5 50's. Dhoni has scored more than 5000 ODI runs over a course of about 5 years and he has scored them at a rate faster than sachin. sachin took 141 matches 138 innings to score 5000 odi runs with 11 100's and 31 50's. Dhoni took 152 matches 135 innnings to complete 5000 odi runs with 5 100's and 34 50's.
