Indian Fans - Be Sportive don't be fanatic
by Vijay on Apr 26, 2010 01:48 PM  | Hide replies

As soon as Mumbai lost its crowd simply melted away as though they lost against p@rkistan ? Had this final happened in Chennai, the Tamilains would have stayed back to applaud our darling super hero sachin even assuming we lost. No wonder Chennai crowd stands as the most knowledgeable out of the whole bunch out there. The 1999 test match against Pakistan will still stand as a crowning glory of sporting behavior of Chennai. Love the Game Spirit!

very true, mumbai crowd was stunned after the defeat, more so coz they wanted to see india's favorite holding the trophy. but this is all cricket, the best team wins and not the best man!!

regarding crowd getting disappear, one thing i'd like to highlight as a resident of mumbai, that almost everyone has to catch monday's office, school or colleges and considering the location of the stadium, mumbai's traffic, handling of parking & distance between one end to another, even if mumbai could win. people avoid spending time to celebrate as every one wants to avoid the life threatening traffic. since i stay close to D Y Patil & has witnessed mess after matches. i m sure whatever i've mentioned is what everyone has thought whoever was in stadium y'day.

chennai team is as darling to people as mumbai team or for that matter anyother team.

and considering sentiments behind city based loyalty, i think this will help IPL (if not cricket) in coming years to grow.

one last cheer for CSK!!

Also now i am sure we have great chances to win world cup as skipper and many other players are part of the winning team in IPL. a definite moral booster

wake up bro
by ashoka on Apr 26, 2010 01:44 PM  | Hide replies

Dear brothers,
I wonder why all of you were so emotional and now fighting and abusing each other to maximum possible. All forum messages depict hatredness and full of agony for each other. Please honestly ask yourself, what u got from such games. Even if its matchfixing or not, we are not getting anything. Rather we should ask ourselves what we are contributing to cricket or any sport or by anything to our country. The guys earn more and if it were fixed still more. But we watching and emotionally abusing lost precious days of our young time when we were supposed build our carrer or do something for our family and country. My request come at 11pm in night, switch on tv and see oh it’s Chennai; good; and then good night.

SACHIN : A THIRD RATE CAPTAIN
by Aries aries on Apr 26, 2010 01:25 PM  | Hide replies

no one is questioning his integrity. He is a honest and a gentleman cricketer. He is also a great player of the game and he has loads of talent.

My point is that he plays for personal glory.

all of sachins acheivements have rarely won us matches.

Steve waugh will perform 8 times out of 10 under pressure whereas sachin will perform only 2 times out of 10 under pressure.

Scoring tons by the dozen is useless unless it wins matches

U compare Sachin to Steve - The will only be fare if you are able to find an Indian comparison for all the remaining Australian players who contributed to Steve's performance converting to a win. Don't talk when u dont understand the game. Roger Federrer lost in the Davis cup despite him winning his 2 singles - but his team lost the other 2 singles and the doubles. Does that make him a 3rd rate player too. A dumb headed good for nothing fella - thats what you are...

Dude it was a shocker, CSK was all the way but somehow lost in between with still wickets in had whereas this was a match where CSK dominated and ppl were sure unless some miracle happens MI can't win. Even in Kings XI punjab match, the crowd was disappointed and it took sometime to come back to normal. Useless sardarji like u don't know what is sportsmanship, Don't crack anymore sardarji jokes by saying chennai is not sportive. We were shocked bcoz we lost to virtually useless team like punjab which does'nt even deserve a place in IPL even as drinkboy or sweepers for CSK matches.

"what stands out at Chepauk is the atmosphere and the crowd, reputed to be the most knowledgeable and appreciative in the country. This was proved when those present gave a standing ovation to Saeed Anwar after his record breaking 194 against India in the Independence Cup match in 1997 and again when Pakistan won the Test match in 1999. A truly overwhelmed Pakistani team even made a lap of honour in appreciation of the spectators' sporting behaviour" source cricinfo dot com

It makes sense to stay and applaud if a deserving team won. Whats the point applauding a team which won by fluke and luck.

Hello Sailesh...learn real cricket from CSK or DC.
Best Team(CSK) Wins the Trophy and not the Best Player(Sachin).
Sit , Think and save ur Mumbai atleast for the next season.

This shows that you and ur MI team does'nt know anything about quality spin bowling and good fielding. Even after missing the catches and gifting easy runs in spinner, u did'nt learn the lesson. Watch the repeat telecast of the match and learn CSK's bowling and fielding effort and save ur Mumbai a*s atleast for the next season.

Guys how much more will you try to fix so atleast this time Mumabi makes it to Semis' first 8 matches you played in your home turf. that is what was required for a team to qualify. I wanted Mumbai to be humilated and shown its place. We showed you what we are capalble of.
