irony
by Rahul Yadav on Apr 23, 2010 11:37 AM

In the name of entertainment & sports, they are cheating people. The modern sport is nothing but gambling. Most matches are fixed. Before everyone used to play and used to derive physical benefit from the game. Now sports is more like tele serials. People are just watching, eating potato chips (Rs 200/KG), drinking Pepsi-Coke, then spending money to reduce their flab. What's an irony.

Love of Money
by Zinda Dil on Apr 23, 2010 11:15 AM  | Hide replies

They deliver to us stock market and other scams on a regular basis. Now they are destroying cricket also by their love of money. In North we play cricket for good health and fun, in Guj-Maha they play it for money. No wonder these two communities have corrupted cricket for good in India. What to do about this gujju-marathi combine? Its truly mind-boggling...

Female umpires and Bhajji/Symonds
by vellaiKarupan Whiteblakie on Apr 23, 2010 11:13 AM  | Hide replies

There is an article in times of India chennai edition today... it lobbys for Female umpires in IPL matches! It also says that females will can boss over the players sending crooked one out if they misbehave and add to that it says that players like Harbajan, Symonds will behave if there is a female umpire involved. I dont think these guys will be kept quiet because of a female umpire. If you have watched the match yesterday, Harbajan grab Nitu's a$$ and lift her! I think if a female umpire gives a decision in favour of him what is the gaurentee that he will not do the same thing to the umpire! Grab her a$$ and lift her up? Symoonds I dont know much about him when it comes to female but there is a likeleehood that he may lift the female umpire and go directly to the team hotel if he wins the match. Gilli may probably flirt with her on field with the help of Rohit Sharma. I dont who all have to be watched if they deploy female umpires in an IPL match: Yuvaraj, Dhoni, Bret lee, Sreeshanth, RP Singh, David warner gilli and the list goes on!

Have lost respect for Tendulkar and almost all great cricketers
by Forrest Gump on Apr 23, 2010 11:13 AM  | Hide replies

I have lost respect for all the cricketers past and present. Note that i have been a passionate follower of cricket for 25 years.

But lately all cricketers including former greats are just succumbing to the lure of money and supporting a gambling den like IPL.

what happened to the cries of these cricketers to preserve quality Test cricket? All forgotten for the lure of quick money through 20-20 IPL...look at how the likes of Gavaskar, Sobers etc who are supposed to be sensible voices of cricket support a money making(that too illegally) venture like IPL which is killing quality cricket player between countries.

Now i will always follow cricket with a pinch of salt. I will never ever take the views of any cricketer seriously.

Though i hate Ponting, i support him and Clarke who have stayed away from the greed of IPL.

IPL is fixed
by Forrest Gump on Apr 23, 2010 11:09 AM  | Hide replies

This time they will make sure that the team owned by BCCI treasurer N Srinivasan wins...first time it was Lalit Modi's team that won with a bunnch of nobodies...last season they tried their best to accomodate chennai team but Blr and Hyd were too good...look at Rajasthan Royals...they have been crap since the first edition...this IPL is a fixed tourney and only BCCI stakeholders are enjoying the loot...high time to put an end to such a fixed tournament. Hope Sachin ensures that Chennai is not able to win and thus fixing is not given a chance in IPL.

What, it is fixed for MI to win! Who else is going to win but them and Ambani?

MI somehow played 10/14 games at home. SRT can rest anytime in a game and return. Semis and finals in Bombay. a II rate team like MI suddenly starts winning? fixed by Modi and Ambani openly.
