Hey when Tendulya got out, Banglore was celbrating like they won the IPL-3. If you didn't watch the game on TV, check the pictures out on Cricinfo. This shows how much respect opposition has for Tendulya and his batting ability..
And when Ganguly was getting out in KKR games, the opposition were hardly celebrating but KKR team on bench smiling and lauging most of the times. Gangulys fall probably gave them hint of hope of winning those games...

Did u do ur homework before writing the post ? Ganguly is one of the top run getters in this season. Tendulkar is great no doubt but do not beliitle others.
Guys like you always belive in blind idol worship. Well not you exactly, all over India bengali bashing is a sport thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
In this process you end up antagonising your own countrymen against you

The reson most bash Bongs is for their blind Hero worshipping. Even when Ganguly kept failing, they will still abuse everyone here on this board who said anything against Ganguly.
When Ganguly wasn't selected for that ODI team Under Dhoni, who eventually ended up beating Australia in Australia. The Bongs went on riots and blocked train etc..

its true that ganguly got the runs. but at what pace is the question? being a opener u need to score them quick.strike rate of 100 to 120 isnt enough for an opener.

Legend my foot, if not for Pollard,Rayudud,Tiwary Mumbai indians would have lost.As usual he flunks at key matches all his records are just under normal circumstances. Moreover he is a failed capatain unlike Ganguly who literally transformed the indian team and won many matches for india.

Dada's time is over. Saving his ass from Shahrukh, backlashing to own team boys publically. is it good captaincy, I am sorry dear, it is not.

There we go.. Another Ganguly Worshipper.
There was a brain named John Wright involved heavily in that transformation. It was Dravid who was at the pick of his carrier and kept battling for India when dice was down.. Sehwag was there as emerging power..
Ganguly does get credit but he wasn't only one doing that.

Why is the media here so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed to recognize our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledge them. Why? We are the first in milk production. We are number one in Remote sensing satellites. We are the second largest producer of wheat. We are the second largest producer of rice. Look at Dr. Sudarshan , he has transferred the tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed in the bad news and failures and disasters. I was in Tel Aviv once and I was reading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks and bombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But the front page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who in five years had transformed his desert into an orchid and a granary. It was this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details of killings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried among other news.
APJ Abdul Kalam at Speech1In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime.. Why are we so NEGATIVE? Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign T.Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology.
Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize that self-respect comes with self-reliance?

I don't agree with this guy. Its easy to find scape goats. When he says "What do a Mukesh Ambani or a Vijay Malya know about cricket", does he mean to say that every sports league team in the world is supposed to be owned by only those who played professional sports themselves? What a BS!!! C'mon man blast wrong ppl for right reasons, not for wrong reasons!

first sharad pawaar should be sacked, because he pretends innocense and does the back ground work in every thing, because of his policies a lot of young talent has not come up. why Modi HAS TO RESIGN? If this is applicable then all the ministers have to resign as they amass lot of money and send to swiss banks and itali banks and allot petrol bunks to kith and kin. ICL has made IPL atleast young talent is coming up.if Modi has violated rules he can be punished, but not on the issue of nepotism. No govt has the moral right to do punish MODI.
Media has no work and its creates and then nullifies the issue which was proven many times.

I agree with u. The fact is that these franchisees have brought in unknown talent in the form of tiwari, rayudu, pandey into the lime light which our selectors could not find. Journos love to find faults as that is how thier articles sell!
Re: And
by ramakrishnan s on Apr 22, 2010 12:31 PM
Buddy, if that was the case, how come the income tax did not send notices to them all these years? Buddy, there are a number tax exemptions which can be legitimately claimed and i suppose the BCCI would have availed them and also their accounts are audited. There can be no question of non payment.
He is capable and over ambiious . It is better he should resign and handover the rein to the other official of the BCCI. If the next IPL 2011 flop the Mody is right and if successful without controversy the Mody is Wrong. It is the time to prove himself. IT IS DEMOCRACY

He has not done any crime to prove. IPL is a company where his intrest lies. There can be his relatives in the helm, nothing wrong. He should have followed govt's procedures with respect to taxation and foreign currency transfers. These franchisees are there for the past three years and now the govt departments got alert and making raids as if a war is going on. lalit Mody made the concept sucessfuland gave entertainment to the millions of Indians. He deserve to continue.

Ask which standard he passed, that is the appropriate question. These are the miserable Indians that love to take scams up their a** every day and the wonder about their plight.
It is quite strange that media is fully trying to remove MODI. But why? It is acceptable that congress lost one of their minister so they will cry. But modi did fair and right things. He should not be removed. If his relatives has some shares in IPL than what wrong in it?
Re: why modi
by John Parappuzha on Apr 21, 2010 09:44 PM
Agreed, lets allow Modi to continue. And lets put Tharoor back in the ministry also. They are very nice guys just a bit ( may be a whole lot) corrupt. But lets allow them to keep doing what they are doing. What would Indians do with out these two. God, we cant survive with out them. Please put the mback in.....
Lalit Modi is caught in the political web and the govt is allout to unseat him. At the end he will comeout and start another League in SA or UK.He is very dynamic, alert and good businessman.Unfortunate India is going to loose a very big business by playing this dirty game of tax evasions etc. In the IPL-2 SA got benefit of a big business and were amazed at the size of the activity. No doubt , it has to be regularised but at the same time should be done diplomatically by keeping lalit for some moretime. He desrves the honour.

this whole IPL idea was first given by zee tv few yrs back. But BCCI said no to it and then they turned it to a big bus. If all scam creating people r good bus man for u? then big bull was much better.
Re: Re: Lalit Modi should continue

BCCI is a conventional induviduals with no creativity. we see this in their selection process for national team.BCCI could have regularised and complied with Govt procedures withrespect to IPL, but it did not happen. They need someone to organise everything and later they will take over.
