Sourav is the ONLY Player in the Top 5(his position is 3,after Sachin & Kallis),who does not play International Cricket anymore.Under such circumstances,to motivate oneself to score so many runs for winning causes & also Improving his Fuelding(has won the catch of the match many more times than Sachin & the rest),its really Commendable! One should give Credit, where its Due!What has the GREAT M.S .Dhoni done in this IPL,except for one Innings against KKR & another "FIXED" Match against Kings 11???????????
had kkr won the punjab match, which they really should have, these crap would have stopped. Ganguly played really well for his role, specially at the later half of the tournament. He has atleast 3-4 match winning innings. His on-field captaincy was as aggressive as ever and in addition to that it was even more efficient.
Why not shane warne in the list? Apart from one match, he was neither taking wickets, nor really containing the batsmen

i would rather say that its because of ganguly, it seemed kkr have some chances of making it to semis....
you have to agree that except ganguly, murli kartik and dinda, none of the players have performed consistently.... gayle and mathews performed in patches....

The average winning score in this IPL has been 170 in 20 overs. Of 170, 10 will come as extra. So a winning team scores 160 in 20 overs a team needs an strike rate of 130%. There will be some big-hitters who will play a little cameo with strike rate of 150-200%. So a specialist batsman really doesn't need to score at a rate of 120% or around that, it's not bat given that they are ensuring the team bats through 20 overs. So Ganguli's strke rate of 117 is not bad. BTW if Kallis is good with a strike rate of 119, then why ganguli is bad with a strike rate of 117.
Looking at the runs he scored and the spectacular catches he took, its not fair to adjugde ganguly as flops in IPL3.... yes he was flop in IPL1 and IPL2... but in IPL3 he is not....
come on rediff..... its understandable that any topic over ganguly gives you good publicity !!!!!
T20 is indeed the game’s golden goose, but those who wear the luminescent suits imported from Italy and wonderful wrist watches made in Switzerland should realise (surely they know right?) that a commodity’s value is directly related to how rare it is and who has it. Right now, cricket is vomiting T20 cricket all over the globe, and personally I’m struggling to tell the difference or even give a crap. Besides, vomit does have a rather rancid smell.
Give me Test cricket, and the sun burn that goes with it, any day.

When T20 first arrived on the scene I was as excited as everyone else, but since then several trips to Newlands and the Wanderers have shown me that people aren’t there for the cricket, but rather the party that goes along with it. The ICC might see T20 as a new way to expand the game (or get rich) and bring in new followers, but what is the point if those new converts don’t even understand the true dynamics of the game, being an equal contest between bat and ball. That is what cricket is really about, with it being one of the few games where slight changes in conditions influences the nature in which a match pans out. All they, the T20 musketeers, are doing is adding consumers to their fan base, and not cricket fans as they might tell yo
