What about marriage? I think it is lot cheaper than a 70- Cr sweat equity coerced from another businessman.
The same media reporting lots of murky deals involving Lalit Modi, has reported that Govt has a secret info about such deals about a 6 months back. Now I wonder what govt was waiting for to nail Modi and IPL? Was this delay deliberate? or IPL shut the mouth of govt with bribes etc? Was govt waiting for Shashi Tharoor to get involved and get sacrificed for peanut corruption?

He was sacrifical lamb in the bigger game /..will be rehabilitated soon as he has trust of 10 janpath nd MMS .. Con sacrificed him as they have something to finger pawar and others ... y ppl think so linearly abt politics ????/
IPL shopuld be banned in the interest of healthy cricket. At the moment it has become a lucrative avenue of investment of black money. Lalit Modi is the artechture of this commercialization of cricket. Of course he is not alone in this endeavour. He could not have succeeded had he not been supported by the powers that be. But he tried to blow himself out of all proportions and this proved fatal for him. Modi is so arrogant that on the eve of Loksabha election, he had the audacity to shift the venue of IPL to South Africa. How could he do this? IPL played on foreign ground. He ought to have been arrested and put behind the bars for this act of treason. He showed scant respect to the electoral process which was in another sense a disrespect to the Constitution of India. Unfortunately he was let off then. It is really good news that he is going to be removed.

not nessarily, he don't need a ministry to travel first class.. he is rich and educated enough for that and above all not corrupt..

Income tax officials digging into IPL papers have failed to locate two vital documents — the bid papers of the Videocon and Adani Groups, whose failure to win teams for Pune and Ahmedabad is said to be at the root of the Lalit Modi-Shashi Tharoor battle.
Sleuths said the absence of the documents could leave a crucial hole in the probe which, among other things, is seeking to establish the fairness of the bidding process. The missing files could settle one way or the other the widespread perception that the first round of bidding —- on March 7 in Mumbai —- for the two new IPL teams was tweaked to favour Dhoot and Adani.

What crime he has done, not deceived anyone, not murdered anyone, rather Cricket has attracted all foreign players and a lot of entertainment, money making is not crime, everyone is making it.

-Slapped the Congress hard by refusing the Jay Ho slogan for IPL 2 in 2009 -Congress retorted by canceling permission to hold the matches. -Lalit converted this adversity into opportunity by moving the league to SA.
This year he chose to be the WHISTLE BLOWER on Congress MP Tharoor's nefarious act.
