A consortium won the bid for kochi surprisingly, It was totally unexpected for lalit modi because he made his best effort for Adani and Videocon group to win the bid for an Ipl team. Also he have some commercial plan with them. After his lost dreams he is trying to demolish the team from Kochi after practicing some cheap media Dramas. He made himself in trouble as an IPl Commissioner.

Yes its high time for IT department to raid all IPL consortium like Rajasthan Royals, KKR, KXIP, so that they real color will be out who all are behind benami account. Modi was hiding all these days other the details of other consortium and till today he hasn't revealed who is behind Rajasthan Royals franchise? How can he follow double standards like a typical marwadi business? He needs to be interrogated first before Kochi franchise..seeing all this i guess IPL will succumb to its own hype of exuberance and the bubble will burst in no time..that's the fact

I was reading an Article in a daily. The author had written that IPL teams represent the elite India. They represent the rich and wealthy cities which have maximum business stake/prospects for the promoters. Maharashtra has two cities - Mumbai and Pune, Punjab/Haryana - Chandigarh, Rajasthan - Jaipur, Delhi, Bengal - Kolkata, TN - Chennai, Karnataka- Bangalore, AP - Hyderabad, Kerala - Kochi. UP, Bihar Jharkhand, MP (the largest states in terms of population) have no teams.
Subrat Roy comes from a backward area near Gorakhpur . He started chit fund in Gorakhpur and then settled in Lucknow where he did most of his investments. In the recent auctions, being a hard core UPiite and settled in Lucknow, everyone expected that he would definitely choose the IPL team for Kanpur. He instead chose Pune. He gave only one reasons for not chosing Kanpur that Kanpur Airport does not have night facility and the teams fly from venue to venue overnight. His argument was lame, he knew it very well as night landing system at kanpur airport is opening by end April 2010, and IPL matches will happen in April 2011. Also, Chandigarh and Pune airports have serious restrictions in night.
The real reason for Sahara choosing Pune is its wealthiness due to IT hub and lots of business interests of Sahara in constructions.
IPL is not to promote cricket, but to earn money from cricket.
This muppet Modi thinks only his family and friends should have all the franchise. When Kochi bought the team he felt chilly paste inside his assssss and never wanted to give a team for them. Am not in favor of Shashi tharoor or whoever. This moron Modi thinks he is the best business man of the World, if thinks so he better go and deal more drugs in USA so that he can earn more money than IPL

Behind a facade of sobriety both Lalit Modi and Shashi Tharoor seem to be crooks with an unsatiable appetite to make big bucks. This battle it seems is going to go a long way and has the potential to unravel the career and reputation of both these chaps.
Modi seems to be so good at politics that he may put a professional politician to shame.
Shashi Tharoor seems to be a crook behind a venear of accented english and scholarly demeanour. He is one person who have given this govt. maximum negative publicity and his services should be done away with.

He is the henchman of two big criminal politicians from maharshtra who are union ministers associated with cricket and together they will eat up all what the cricket and the cricket fans in this country have . they are ruthless in that and in that journey they will have lots of scapegoats, one among them is Shashi Tharoor. The two congress leaders or i would say erstwhile congress leaders who are the above ministers want to tarnish the PM and the government also because they are the closest friends of the BJP big wigs and Shiv sena guys . having said this, Tharoor being a minister need to be more cautious in getting involved in such contentious issues directly thereby inviting criticism on him as well as the government he represents. No doubt about his personal integrity and background though unlike the creep, lalit modi.

All said and done Tharoor is a much more classier person than Modi (no comparison at all) in all terms, whether talent, education, charisma, honesty and down to earth approach. Modi is really a bad person. He is living in the legacy of Jagmohan Dalmia. Cant event win as a RCA official.Spineless BCCI will still persist with Modi as IPL commisioner.
