honorable minister....?
by silk on Apr 13, 2010 03:40 PM  | Hide replies

when you are in public life, your private life is scrutinized to an extent you may be uncomfortable with; but then that's the price you pay for being in position of authority. it's unbecoming of someone the stature of a central minister to pick up a street-fight like quarrel with a rouge like Lalith Modi?

Silky well said....and I do not understand why our minister does not like criticism in public when they love praise in public....I also abstain myself saying them honorable...

Shashi Tharoor Vs Nandan Nilekani
by IMTIAZ KHAN on Apr 13, 2010 03:33 PM  | Hide replies

Shashi Tharoor is a person causing immense embarassment to the govt. He must be dropped from the cabinet during the next reshuffle.

There is a degree of dignity, decorum and secrecy associated with the persona of govt. functionaries. He ought to behave in accordance with those responsibilities.

Nandan Nilekani is also an entrant to govt. with a cabinet rank. He demeanour has been exemplary. He is dignified, speaks as much as is required and conducts himself behoving of shouldering responsibility bestowed on him by govt.

There is a huge difference in the behaviour of these two gentlemen. The govt and the party have given him sufficient chances to rectify his methods, but he seems to be incorrigible and should be out of govt. as soon as can be done.

"secrecy associated with the persona of govt. functionaries"

secrecy...hmm!

I don't like things secret. Secrecy breeds corruption my friend.

Seasoned or top government ministers are very circumspect while talking. Pl. bear that in mind. They know the responsibility of office.

Nilekani is doing the all important job of the UID project. Its a project which will revolutionise identity, delivery system et al when implemented. He knows the importance of his job and is doing it quietly.

Shashi Tharoor is also in the foreign office. A very high profile and responsible ministry where every word counts. He is got to remain quiet and do his work. The guy is about to be married the third time while as a minister. That one episode is going to prove very embarassing for the govt.

Folks
by gautam gautam on Apr 13, 2010 03:31 PM

Congress President Sonia Gandhi met with Rajiv Shukla, vice president of BCCI, who is also congress member of parliment, over congress minister Shashi.

Don't worry folks, this issue will be buried soon. Tharoor will live to die another day unless he upgrades his skill in corruption. Modi will be kicked out.

And this episode will be a warning to others to not meddle with anyone linked to congress lest the entire might of congress and madam will be on you.

Moral of the story - don't be a whistle blower in India. You will get nothing but trouble. If you see corruption, close your eyes or better join and make some money for you and your family. Screw the people.

Shashi teaching young Indians about morals. This is the best moral learnt. Thank you sir.

tharoor is great
by anilkumar on Apr 13, 2010 03:23 PM  | Hide replies

Hats off to Tharoor, seldom in india we had such a proactive politician. He was after all rooting for his state, whats wrong in that.If Maharashtra can have two teams, frankly kerala deserved one.If Modi wanted Ahmedabad or Baroda,it could have been easier if a clause had been set up citing one team for one state.
And what about the big talks of adani enterprise, they lost the bid, inspite have having about 5 billion dollars of finance.
I congratualte Tharoor, the People of Kerala will have a hero in him forever.
Alwyas felt that Modi could have convinced Sahara Group to take on Ahmedabad, after all North indians are not welcome in maharasthra isn it.
