Mongoose bat.. it should be called a goose bat!! I wonder why there is so much hype about this toy. Initially when i saw this bat on pics.. I thought so too but after seeing Hayden batting with it in the IPL, I doubt if it is going to be effective at all.. coz with a conventional bat, one would be able to get high on his toes and still play a body-directed beamer with straight bat defensively. but with this short a blade how could anyone play that kind of a delivery. and also what big has Hayden achieved with this bat? I really wonder if this will click and if at all it did, if it will stay for a long time.. same thing happened to a lot of other bats with minor adjustments like the bottle necked bats for eg.. after all how much can you innovate with a bat.. for eg.. can you have a hocket stick with an end that looks like a "w" instead of a "u". if we did , it would help the players with more control and stick width.. isnt it.. but is it practicaly possible. Cmon guys.. lets just get over this mongoose thing..

@Venkat, Boss, getting the desired result is different.Atleast he has tried something different.Tell sachin to dare to do something different,he'll shy away fm it. No in learning from others.

Sachin has noting to try new... he already invented many styles and innovations.. previously he used the weightest bat and scored as many runs... if ur a cricket lover u must, shud love sachin... without him there is no cricket....
There is more innovation in the game format and the gear but no focus on spreading to other regions where the sport is not completely popular. It would be interesting to see more nations covered in this format and more Premier Leagues coming up in US, Latin Am and Mainland Europe than over focussing on changing the way game is played within the limited nations. That way required focus on making the sport into a mainstream activity for revenue spinning without putting lot of pressure on the players and followers to learning new stuff at short intervals.
If all teams played according to their initial predictions then by the mid of the round robin matches we would have 4 clear winner and 4 clear loser ie we would know which teams are going to the semis and which are not. This would make the remaining of the match uninteresting and the teams would lose the valuable ad revenue as people would stop watching subsequent matches. All teams know that their is more money in playing high TRP matches then winning the IPL. The spirit is no more.. past few matches are evident
IPL has replaced the traditional bat to the Mongoose Bat, changed the colour of the Ball, reduced the boundary distance (thus making the 4s and 6s easier), with more thrust on batsman's batterings than the finesse of Bowlers (even made bowlers to sweat to make more runs and runs), and (already commented by the Minister for Sports) of the BCCI biggies joining and investing the IPL, turned the players into a pack of jokers (with so many MNC stickers all over them), turning the stadium into collosium, and changing spectators into mad crowd of roman times watching gladiators, ...with Cheerleaders and Brand-Celebreties oozing sex & and vulgarity, ... IPL is giving the kick-orgasam to one and all. What will be the next...IPL10, IPL5..IPL1...IPL Zero.
at last they ll change the name cricket in to something else ..and match twenty twenty ll turn in to online cricket game where all the players participate in there home and we viewers see live on TV
Big boys playing at night with pink balls? Afridi should be warned against smelling these pink balls. Otherwise, the exasperated umpire will declare ball-tampering.

Don't you see women everywhere on a cricket ground (including franchisee owners and keeps of owners)? What else are you expecting?
IPL has been the toast of Indian eyes for it’s on as well as off the field experiments, making it the biggest ‘Cricketainment’ roller coaster. I foresee a strong solution in IPL’s experimental tendencies for the larger and serious problem of ‘Gender Bias’ in India. Every IPL team should include at least one woman cricketer (Offcourse without compromising on Fitness & Skill requirements) in their playing eleven to start with. This will not only be a shot in the arm for Women cricket but also an excellent opportunity for IPL management to give a fitting reply for the allegations of using women as a show piece (Cheer Leaders). This step also could be seen as a strong statement for the women causes like Female feticides, Gender bias in offices & society and resistance for women reservation bill.
