IPL has been the toast of Indian eyes for it’s on as well as off the field experiments, making it the biggest ‘Cricketainment’ roller coaster. I foresee a strong solution in IPL’s experimental tendencies for the larger and serious problem of ‘Gender Bias’ in India. Every IPL team should include at least one woman cricketer (Offcourse without compromising on Fitness & Skill requirements) in their playing eleven to start with. This will not only be a shot in the arm for Women cricket but also an excellent opportunity for IPL management to give a fitting reply for the allegations of using women as a show piece (Cheer Leaders). This step also could be seen as a strong statement for the women causes like Female feticides, Gender bias in offices & society and resistance for women reservation bill.
Why not a few regular players with a few bollywood stars in both the sides ? Of course conditions apply. These stars can bat and bowl with dresses or their choice, and can be placed at forward 'short-leg' or 'fine-leg' to cause enough 'distraction' in minds of the batsmen. So IPL will now be a real 'test of nerves' from then on. Hope some bollywood heroines with great 'statistics' in IPL, make the sport more popular the world over....
