We do not have the fire power

I cannot see this indian team win the tournament. The badly miss Zaheer, Sehwag and Yuvraj. And i cannot see R P Singh, Ishant Sharma and Nehra winning us games with the ball.

Bowling and fielding
by indira on Sep 27, 2009 01:28 PM  | Hide replies

Our weak points are our bowling and fielding. Even the inexperienced West Indies possess better bowling strength, where as our so called experienced bowlers fail our team nowadays on regular basis especially in crunch matches. No team can depend upon only on its batting for winning matches. If the bowlers allow the opposition to score a huge score more often, which our bowlers seem to be doing doing regularly nowadays, the batting will bound to collapse. Our fielding is also of not international standards. R.P. singh should have taken the return catch offered by Yunus yesterday. No excuses for that.A bowler shoud always anyicipate such cahnces. It will be very difficult for India to win the remaining 2 matches with such bowling and fielding. We can forget about the Trophy. Our team has to go along way to be called a No.1 team.

That was good observation. Infact watching that hilarious dive first impression was it was Kohli, then camera shows Sachin and the f*cuk did not even try to chase and stop.

Dhoni's captiancy
by hiral joshi on Sep 27, 2009 01:26 PM  | Hide replies

People overrate his captaincy a lot. But most of the Indian victories are based on the performances from Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvi, Raina and Harbhajan and Zaheer. Dhoni gave bowling to Virat Kohli which was totally unnecessary. When Pakistan was supressed at about 15 overs the bowling should be given to Harbhajan and Yusuf Pathan in tandem atleast for 5 overs and should have kept pressure. Dhoni lacks ideas in field placements and later when we batted it was silly to take batting powerplay after loosing 5 wickets. When Raina and Dravid on song that was the best time for batting powerplay. India took powerplay when tail-enders were batting.

yes bhajji have not been able to prove as an attacking bowler for indian for last couple of years. His only positive is that he is little bit economical , thts it. other wise he gets wicket only when batsmen gift him the wicket other wise he is not able to take or earn wickets any more

Between the Sublime and the Ridiculous
by Arun on Sep 27, 2009 01:21 PM  | Hide replies

Over the last few years,Dravid has been just a pale shadow of himself. There was a time when he used to single handedly guide the team to victory.I remember one innings that he played with Kaif in 2006 where they had a match-winning partnership chasing a nearly same score.
Now enter 2009,where he has nearly lost the sublime form that he enjoyed in 2006.Back in those days, he had no trouble facing any kind of bowling be it pace, spin or swing. But seeing the way he struggled yesterday against both spin and pace,(he was not even able to time some strokes properly)reminds me how his batting had slipped from being sublime at one stage to a ridiculous one now.
I sincerely hope he plays his natural game.

Lets do not blame Dravid for this game loss.Just face it that according to Dravid still of bating he can win matches for india only when the target is velow 270-280.If india has to chase anything above 300 then Dravid can only play as a sheet anchor role and some body else like tendulkar, shewag etc has to take the charge
