congratulations India for this achievement.. well well its stiill lagging behind the scenes as it needs to increse their morale and status to maintain consistent... batting is ok but bowling needs to be 4 times stronger.. the bowling pace needs to be incresed.. 130 125 km per hr speed is not enough...

India gets the No:2 spot and Sachin scores yet another century.

And all the jealous guys from one of our neighbouring countries start posting their venomous comments here. So predictable!!

Dont bother about ICC rankings too much. They fluctuate wildly. More important is to consistently win.

sachin has 59 MOM awards for india in ODIS
GANGULY is way behind with 31 MOM for india in ODIS
then its Azharudiin with 18 MOM awards

now ganguly's 31 is 5th all time best in the world
but sachin's 59 is a huge record
so much difference between sachin and ganguly who the best and the 2nd best shows
HOW GREAT SACHIN IS AND HE IS BEYOND COMPARISON
that is why SACHIN TENDULKAR is the greatest

Its surprising to see some of the comments below from some the great experts. Even if they dont like cricket they come in this forum and start criticizing the game itself saying that only 8,10 etc. nations playing cricket, and India becoming no.2 is not great deal, blah, blah......if u like soccer then go and wantch soccer and give _ur_bullshits_abt_those_games. Noone is _begging_u_to_come_here_and_give_ur_nonsense_comments_

India regained the second spot in the ICC [ Images ] one-day rankings following their tri-series triumph in Sri Lanka [ Images ] and are in with a chance to clinch the top spot if they manage a good show in the Champions Trophy [ Images ].

India moved back up to second in the ODI Championship table following the 46-run victory over Sri Lanka in the final of the tri-nation series played at R Premadasa Stadium on Tuesday.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni [ Images ] and his men had briefly enjoyed the top spot in the team rankings after beating New Zealand [ Images ] earlier in the series.

But slipped to the third within 24 hours of that win after being beaten by the home side on September 12.

The same day Australia [ Images ] beat England [ Images ] by seven wickets at Lord's to sneak ahead into second position.

But yesterday's victory put India back to within a single ratings point of South Africa [ Images ] and with just two points separating first from third in the table, everything is set up for a rankings showdown at the ICC Champions Trophy, which gets underway in South Africa on September 22.

Before the Champions Trophy, Australia could go top of the rankings if they manage a clean sweep against England.
