Team India and bi-lateral series
by S Shrikanth on Oct 29, 2009 06:04 PM

Team India performs very well in bi-lateral series it plays. Its players (brand ambasadors of their long list of sponsors) sizzle as these sponsor companies and BCCI "manage" the series very well to suit the interests of these consumer companies who sell overrated and low quality products to Indians through commercials using these cricketers.

But when it comes big tournaments like Cricket WC, Champions Trophy and T20 WC (excluding inaugural one in 2007), these players fail miserably and Team India have an easy First Round exit.

Only Soniaji can take india out of this mess. SHe is truly the Iron Lady of the world & perhaps the greatest leader of all times. It is time she assumes PM ship of India ably aided by Rahulji as Dy. PM & Priyankaji as HM. We all Indians will welcome her any such move as it will certainly take us to superpower status by 2025.

Dr. MMS can be FM.

ALl the best Soniaji, Rahulji & Priyankaji.

Dhoni showed that Mental ability is better than Techniquie
by True Indian on Oct 29, 2009 05:55 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni may not be Technically sound like Tendulkar,Dravid or Ponting but his shear Mental ability and positive attitude makes him a match Winner.

It is not that he is not technically sound. He is stylish as Sachin or Dravid. But he is effective with his defense and attack which is unorthodox. He is technically a good batsman. Its Dhoni who showed the way to tackle Ajantha Mendis during Srilankan tour. Its a good example of his technical ability.

i agree that Dhoni does not have a sound technique...which becomes very apparent when he plays on south-african, australian or english pitches..he just cant survive on such pitches..where ball is moving sideways..his all big scores have come on sub-continent pitches..where its easier to hit the ball through the line...but I will always like to see him in ODI team as a hitter,,though he does not deserve a place in Test team...Dinesh Karthick is better equipped technically and should be given a chance in test-matches...

Great achievement for INDIA ! Wow !

Great achievement for INDIA ! Wow !

Thank you Dhoni for providing great entertainment and for achieving this FIRST for our country. Being a wicket keeper and not getting full 50 overs to play (coming after 4 or 5 wickets are down and getting less no. of overs to face also) you have made a very quick score...124 in just 107 balls faced , that too a match winning score/contribution to the team and against the World's No. 1 ODI team now Australia. Hats off to you. Great achievement. Keep up this good work.

Five (5) 100s in just 125-odd ODIs played , that too as a wicketkeeper batsman (not specialist opening or top order batsman selected in the team) is in itself a great achievement. You always had Gilchrist as your role model and you are slowly achieving what Gilly did for Aussies as wicket keeper batsman.

Great going Dhoni (not pressurized by captaincy also... )

3 roles... Captain, Wicketkeeper, Batsman (wow !). Keep going Dhoni !

Don't forget Dhoni was hit on the helmet very first ball he faced when he came to bat (his score was zero (0) that time). Ben Hilfenhaus bouncer was aimed straight at Dhoni's head and it hit its target and still our great Dhoni was not rattled one bit, he just stopped to examine his helemt for 2 mins and continued to play and score 124 runs. Other players who were not hit on the helmet couldn't score double digit score also. Wow ! This is what is called GRIT and DETRMINATION.

0 to 124 runs after getting knocked very first ball. Think guys ! He showed the opposition (Aussies) what mettle he is made off. Rather metal :-) (steely, strong willed guy Dhoni) :-)
