Injury woes to Aussies
by SR Hari on Oct 28, 2009 10:58 AM  | Hide replies

Why are these aussies - the coach and the captain making so much noise about injuries due to excessive cricket? Weren't they not informed about the calendar in advance? Why did they allow these players to play so many games in short duration? It has become a fashion for everyone to immediately criticize the IPL. If only the CL was held somewhere in SA or in England these jokeres would not have made any noise, probably. Just because it was held in India and by Indians, they tend to criticize forgetting the fact that the players were willing to play for a quick buck.

Control your guys rather than criticizing on the schedule. Indians played CT with almost half of their top players unavailable. They took in their stride and went ahead. Stop crying Punter, Nielson....

Read again... Nielsen said the following:

"It is a situation we grapple with every day. Dealing with players who play for Australia, domestic teams, the IPL or Champions League. Brett's played six one dayers in England, five in the Champions Trophy and then played the Champions League and it is no surprise that he has got an injury.

"We need to be careful but having said that when it comes to the Champions League and the IPL, we do need the best players to play these games as it is good for the product. We monitor our bowlers closely. We test them everyday to know how they go physically and mentally every day," said Nielsen in Nagpur on Tuesday.

The Australia coach said the loss of Johnson, Hopes and Lee would severely deplete his side with the bench not having enough experience at international level.

Where did you find that he "blamed" anything?

You are reacting to Rediff's creative art of writing up headlines.... :)

How mean this Aussies r? For 2nd ODI Brett Lee, Mitchel Johnson and James Hopes r not there due to injury and Aussies have fear that will be advantage for India and they can loose the match

They can "loose" the match or they can "tight" the match, but our Dhoni will create some fresh excuses in case our performance continues to remain bad.... :)

Shane Watson was a shit player whn he made debut in international cric so was Michael clark, Brett Lee, but see them now Aussie have groomed thm so nicely.if you see these plyrs when they were plyng their 1st or 2nd game they looked so amature and look at them now they look so mature and have improved so much.on the other hand our players they look same as when they started playing apart from sachin, dravid and ganbhir, only these 3 players look significantly improved.rest of all Yuvraj, Sehwag, Dhoni.they still look as much amature as they used to look when they debut.thts the reason.Aussies are on top.and we all give supreme importance to achieving no 1 spot as if there is nothing to do after that.I will only count india better than Aussies if they surpass Aussie Achivements.
1)Reaching 4 world cup finals consicutively
2)Winning 3 world cups finals out of 4 consicutive finals
3)Winning 2 consicutive champions trophy
4)retaining number 1 spot in both test and one dayers for such a long time.
5)remaining top cricketing team for such long time from 1996 till date.
6)With only 3 permanant captaincy changed (look at the consistency)
7)even after all the key palyers retired gradually still a very tough team to beat.
8)Key player like retired after steve waugh, mark waugh retired after 1999, shane warne after 2003, i m not sure when mcgrath retired, gilly and heyden retired after 2007, michael slatter, justine langer, demien martyn, so many key players retired but they r no 1

hey chindhee i wonder how u can access interneet u seem to be completely iliterate considering ur reply...i hve mentioned in my point that to be obsesed about being no 1 is not the point to retain it for such a long time is the key its been more than a decade since aussie team is the supreme team and cosidered to be no. 1, wht after becoming no. 1, u have to retain for a decade to surpass aussie's greatness, do we have potential to do tht, sachin will retire in 2-3 years, then wht, do we have any other sachin? aussies had mark tailor after border and steve waugh after tailor and now ponting after steve waugh, three world cup winning captains out of 4, and we have none, go to school and start learning how to analyse things rather than just blindly saying we r the best, if we were so good we wud have won 2nd T20 world cup and champions trophy, there is no argument for loosing and there is no criticism for winning remember this...i knw illiterate like u will never understand this but just for the heck of writing this i have written atleast some there will understand this line, infact i dont want ppl like u to understand this line, it will be insult to my statements

they always have a plan in place..itrs all in the genes..when it comes to planning for self, like planning a house, we do better since it is concerning us..but when it comes to planning for cricket we lag because, previously, players like kapil and gavaskar play for pride and when they perform, they get money..but now, if they dont play well in international matches, IPL and ADV are there to take care of their living...only dhoni, sachin, gambhu seems to have some shame when they dont play well..
