Mr.Sudeep Tyagi....you chosen Zaheer Khan as your ideal....as he he is not the best in the wold, but still if you are able to perform well in the upcoming series against Australia then your dreams & ideals are true.
If you asked anybody who realy had played cricket for minimum 15 to 20 years as opening batsman, he will definitly answer you that the speed is hardly contribute not more than 2 percent to put him in truble. its a line ,length ,swing ,spin & variationin speed , Reading the batsman & field placing according to Bowling area is very much important to become a successfull bowler.Have you watch Fanny De viller of SA ( Retired nearly 7 years back ) , Macgrath,Ian Botham & Kapil

That is correct. You don't need to be a speed demon to take wickets. The obsession with speed is ruining young fast bowlers.
when they start their international career they bowl at full speed like 140 plus but as soon as they get some success they slowed up due to the fear of injury....
example munaf patel, ishant sharma, sreenath
and in todays world of cricket if u r bowling at 145 its common, there r many guys at international level who bowls at this pace
u need additional qualities like a good slow bowl, a deadly yorker, a sharp bouncer with pace....

As Wasim Akram recently remarked ,it is the coaches in India who drill it into the heads of these bowlers that line and lenght is more important than pace. So they find it convinient to settle for LL as they do not have to bend their back for pace. Soon this guy too will settle for LL instead of pace. Zaheer was clocking 145 KM plus when he arrived on the international scene. Munaf was said to be the quickest. Ishant regularly bowled at over 140 KMPH in Australia. Now most of them bowl at 125-130 km. Anil kumble the spinner bowled at 115 KM often. What is the point in having these sort of bowlers. Not one guy can bowl a searing yorker at the death.

sorry to disagree but zaheer is a far effective bowler than he was. Remember Mc grath ?.How fast was he ?. Dude it is about line and length. But youngsters like ishant havent picked the line and length part yet in a disciplined way. Once that happens, he will be a far effective bowler like zaheer.
'My main weapon is speed' quote from tyagi will only seem fair for one season. Eventually he will succumb to the to the idea of lasting his career by bowling in the mid 120's following the trend set by pathan, munaf, ishant and the list goes on and on...
Hey people, i would like to draw your attention to a strange brand of commentary indulged in even by India commentators. If Shane Bond or some pakistani guy bowls at 138 he is termed express, but if an indian bowler gets above 140 he is still a medium pacer. Lets have some objectivity in commentary too. Guys like Nehra and ishant have been doing 140 this season, but who is a quickie? that young Pakistani bowler (forgot his name) who averages around 135. Some of the older guys would rmember J Sreenath regularly bowling over 140 and being termed as medium pacer. Not done folks. Not fair.

tat ung pakistani bowler... r u referring to Sami? btw shane bond is at his slowest at 138 and nehra and all are at their fastest at 140 odd. plus they are not consistently bowling @ 140. however it really doesnt matter, most of the succesful pacers in the world were arnd 135-140 mark only (with exceptions like donald, marshall and waqar)and bowlers like thomson, akhtar and lee who bowled @ 150 have hardly been considered grt.
He is a fantastic lanky tall fast bowler who can hit the deck consistently.Along with Ishant he will be firing on all cylinders in the comming years.Aussies will be bitten hard by this two lanky fast bowlers.
