Sangita.. you appear to be ignorant about the fact that Sachin is not a Hindu any more. Anyways, that doesn't make me or anyone else hate him...

Criticising someone out of sheer irrational hatred/jealousy cos he's a Hindoo - is totally different...

@Sangita
I do not hate/never have been jealous of sachin.

And what has his or my religion got to do with anything.

You probably misunderstand my comments..

How about learning somethign from them instead. Do u do anything in life equally passionatly as Sachin does for cricket...?? Learn that persistance rather than trying to be oversmart, trying to find flaws in ppl ..and such flaws which are not even there....Grow up...

It is extremely difficult to donate hard cash, i often wonder y all big celebrity doante their things and y not money. i saw lot of big celebrity comes to t.v show and donate their winning amount or gives their cap or other personal thing for auction i agree this is big thing but i consider people (celebrity or common man) who donate hard cash is even bigger.

how much cash u have donated from your pocket. 1 rupee, 2 rupee may be not even that.
Try to appreciate if someone is doing something for needy rather than sitting at home and criticizing the person at rediff discussion board.

My friends, think ten times before lashing. Sachin (or any (media-hyped) Superstar be it filmy, crickety, politicky, socilly etc, has earned more than enough for his ten generations to sit n eat. What does the ocean care if a shipload of it's water gets drained? Parallely enough, it's always the well known who are good n generous n what not (because of their aura alone.)

As they say always - If a king has a keep, it's chic cause it's his right (?!). But if a commoner has a casual girlfriend even, it's adultery.....

How much do you know?
by Tushar Sakhalkar on Oct 23, 2009 05:25 PM  | Hide replies

I am surprised at comments by people who know nothing about private life of Sachin...
How many of you know how much is his earnings? How many know how much tax he pays? How many know that he supports large number of orphan children and his wife - a trained paediatrician - takes care of these children directly? How many know about other acts of his charity?
Unfortunately, we have very bad habit of demonising every celebrity who makes money.
Do you know that even today, Sachin visits the place where he was brought up and spends time with children there? How many who have made it BIG do this?
REMEMBER Indian culture recommends that "What one hand gives other should not know". There are ample celebrities who do a good samaritan work but choose not to publicize. This includes Sachin, Sauravb, Anil Kumble, Salman Khan, Pran and Amrish Puri (yester years)....

You are right. People who gives charity dont broadcast to the world what one has given. Some people are there who will call the media for publicity. Sachin is great.

Here Media went there to grab story. Why u think some ppl broadcast it them self...And i=even if some chatiry ppl do it then its good publicity, reading such stories atleast few more ppl will become compassionate and do some good work. And plus media ppl also get paid.So tahts called Job creation..U should think this way of course only if u r positive minded...

Charity by Sachin
by Yashpal Singh on Oct 23, 2009 05:17 PM

How many do we know in this world, let alone India, that do such training and all money goes to charity? Sachin doesn't even need this money or exposure, it has to be his noble heart. Taking of noble, why don't people like Sachin get a Noble prize, they do something for others, what has obama done to deserve the prize, other than talking?
