Be fair to Dravid
by Nilesh Arya on Oct 15, 2009 10:23 PM  | Hide replies

I think age has become an important factor and not performance in Indian cricket. Whereas players above 30 years are playing so well for other countries specially Australia, Rahul Dravid has been dropped without any reason.

Can a Virat hold the middle order? I think the Indian middle order would collapse like pack of cards without the Wall.

I think the Indian team doesn't deserve a player of class as Dravid.

No matter, Dravid will always be known as someone who always sacrificed for the team.

He will always be highly talked about among people who know cricket

very true dude....dhoni n team selectors have more faith in virat kohli n ravindra jadeja than dravid n laxman(aussie specialist)...feel like pitty seeing it... dravid is great as always..always he was the victim.. this is disrespect they gives to him...please dravid, being a fann of true cricket.. please announse ur retirement rather being a football of selectors...so sad about you n laxman..no one can go beyond our 90's fabulous fours & threes(batting= sachin, gangulky, dravid, laxman ; bowling= sreenath, prasad, kumble)...

Dravid sacrificed in ODIs? How?
By keeping wickets, he ddnt sacrifice...he just held on to the lifeline given to him by Ganguly!

After dhoni became captain, its total politics. Selection is matter of closeness to captain & not talent. Pathetic.
Player like dravid/laxman talent sitting out & club level player like Ishant/Praveen/raina/Bhajji etc in team as they are good friend of Dhoni

POOR SELECTION
by kandasamy on Oct 15, 2009 10:21 PM  | Hide replies

Very poor selection.
HARBAJAN
Why they have that much faith over Harbajan. He is not performing at all last 3 years except 2 or 3 matches when part timers even getting wickets.Instead of him ojha is excellent. Even he is performing well in champions league.Every body knows in 20 worldcup first 2 matches he bowled well, but dhoni not included him in next 2 matches in playing 11.What is the reason not included?

ISHANT SHARMA
Second Ishant sharma who is also bowling very poor and still not axed. Every bodyknow his ablity to give runs from IPL 1& IPL 2, 20 World cup, champions trophy. Any one can compare the same with Irfan Pathan, even in one match if he bowled well with good economy and wicketless then next day would be axed. Why selectors keep selecting him?

RAHUL DRAVID
Rahul dravid. he is the one who played very well in champions trophy and now dropped.Good justice from selectors.
Dhoni very good captain even a year before. Now his qualities is changed. Any one can know this from his final eleven selection by allowing harbajan and ishant in all matches even if they were badly beaten in the previous matches. Also he is avoiding irfan.Always keep faith on good talented players not your favorites.A good captain is the one who is rectifying the mistakes not continuing them stubbonly.

u can't live on past laurels..when the whole game is changing to become contest of agility, power and high scores...clinging on the dravid is like ruining your present by being nostalgic about your so-called glorious past!

dravid's exclusion a wrong step
by anzar shennatt on Oct 15, 2009 10:06 PM  | Hide replies

dravid played well in srilanka and SA. look at dhoni's performance .even though he is ICC odi top batsman i have observed that he bats up at #3 when india chasing low scores. He was the one who was responsible for india losing the t20 mathc against ebg. he was waiting till the last ball to hit 4s and sixes. He thinks he can play the anchor role very well. put him in the pacer friendly pitches in NZ and u will see how much technique he has got.Its time Dhoni keeps his ego aside. Dravid is a great player and no one in this indian team is in his league. Selectors has been experimenting for a long time. The truth is many in this indian team can't play short pitched dekiveries and are good only for indian wickets. It will be in the best interest of indian team if dhoni resign from captaincy and Gambhir is made the captain. Gambhir has earned his place in the team and is a total team player. I frimly believe in Tests Dinesh karthick or parthiv patel ,who has improved a lotis a better option than dhoni. Even in CB series indian won because of sachin's batting. Its time indian selectors drop their pre judices and select the best team .Why was abhishek nayar dropped when he hasn't played more than a match.

dude..absolutely true u saying...selectors acts like aussie's selectors since they won two world cup ODIs n dropped highly averaged guys like michel beven..

indian selectors r more faithful to players like virat kohli n jadeja than dravid, aussie specialist laxman... nowdays when we see dhoni's batting, feel like funny.. he don't even know how to hit the balls in hights..always looks for ground shots..thats too defensive kind..still he is ranked at number 01..so pooor n shame on the rankings..they can give enough chance to kohli n pathan, but never give challenging opportunites to guys like abhishek nayar.. rather using him to bring drinks to the ground...so apthetic...

As long as dhoni(who doesn't desrve a place in team on merit) as captain, u can always expect this type of politics in Indian cricket where talented players like Dravid/laxman/nayar/sreeshant has to sit out & all club level dhobis friend keep playing in team.
Few idiots here in forum will keep writing something absurd about dravid but keep their mouth shut for repeated failure of dhobi. shameful biased fans nothing to do with cricket.

Dhoni's failure still doesn't mean Dravid has to be persisted with!
Yes, Dhoni is failing, and he needs to be replaced if he fails in this series!

20 aged guys....
by team welwisher on Oct 15, 2009 10:00 PM

see guys like virat kohli n ravindra jadeja should get mature in their battings... whenevr they come for batting, its just look like kids in front of lions...not even know how to bat against biggies...let them wait n learn atleast for two years...also ishant sharma.. whenever zaheer s there, he used to get techinques for this guy to implement.. unfortunately ashish nehra is selfish n doing good for keeping his slot stable...whenevr these(20 aged guys r looking under consideration they can also think about manishpandey as such guys too..they r too early to get selected for senior team..

I disagree Yousuf has been failing consistently since T20 World Cup.

Nayar is the one who did not get a proper chance to bat, and was thrown out.

by team welwisher on Oct 15, 2009 09:52 PM

i would say it...cos, they r terminated, parsad n robinsingh. they were good trainers, what should they do, if the players r not having fitness??? moreover they dropped dravid..inviting threats , nothing more than in it..not even considered aussie specialist laxman..this team will gonna get severe blow from aussies. what the hell they do with out laxman n dravid instead of virat kohli n ravindra jadeja?

guys whatever you comment on this, am really sad of the stated things....
