select prooven quality players against australia
by sunil k on Oct 14, 2009 08:07 PM  | Hide replies

we r fed up with watching medicore performance of so called young talent...and media is playing a bit of role in infuencing the selection of these players...my advice to the selection committe is to put a right thought behind the seletion of a team against ausies...the idea of selecting young team for the future has flopped....lot of 20-20 format players r getting a free ticket in to indian team...core batting group comprising sehwag, gambir, dravid, yuvraj, dhini, tendulkar..should not be disturbed...select only few players who r capable of delivering under any match situation international cricket is not about developing a player...it's about performance under extream pressure. dravid is a key player, team should play arround him. that's the key to success against aussies.

In sub continent we need big hitters as score always crosses 300 plus. Dhoni should come at no. 3. Dravid best came when he was keeping wickets under Ganguly & bats 4 or 5. He with Yuvraj wins us matches. His place was secured as he was wicketkeeper. He has that surety and playes with with freedom Dravid as pure batsman! I have doubt

a typical 20-20 enthusiasts response...c'mon guys..know a thing or two abt batsmenship, a big hitter...u mean hits a ball over the stadium..and gets out next ball..leaving india fall behind the chase..eventualy loosing to opposition..??
one should build an innings, patnerships...play till the end until a last run is scored...that kind of players we need....not phalthu big hitters.. they allways get out during big run chase

Dravid doesn't fit in ODI
by ashish kumar on Oct 14, 2009 07:45 PM  | Hide replies

i dont understand why dravid was picked for champion trophy. he dont have stamina to stay for long time in ODI where one need to keep scoring and because dravid cant hit boundries he has to run. and after few over he looks so tired that no one can expect him to get the victory. He fits only in Test where runs come in boundries or in T20 where one has to stay only for few over.

Don’t you think India have a chance with 7 players ???
by vickson cv on Oct 14, 2009 07:33 PM  | Hide replies

I don’t think a good Indian team will be selected…. It will be again a Dhoni and his friends team ….I am sure there will not be much surprise … what ever you do see Ishant , RP , Bhaji… will be there in team … Yusuf anytime will go out… and don’t think Irfan don’t be back …..

Sachin and Dravid will not go out and won’t give change to anyone else …. And Dhoni is in peak form… Ishant don’t count … so basically India playing with 7 guys against one of the best teams in the world.

Yes no surprises this time other than Yusuf Pathan who deserve to be drop. But even we don't have any other chioces also. Their is no comment from Indian board or selectors on Indias early exit from CT. They are more concern of CL.

Remove Harbhajan and have Yusuf Pathan
Harbhajan cannot turn offbreak nowadays. He always tries to bowl doosraa and forgotten his Peehlaa
Also Yusuf can turn offbreaks and share bowling 10 overs with Sehwag and Raina and also he can hit hard in slog overs.
Dravid should be played in team and He and Sachin should play 3 matches each.

When Tendulkar's son will make debut?
by MGR on Oct 14, 2009 07:10 PM  | Hide replies

Tendulkar made debut at 16 years against Pak in Nov-1989 and is completeing 20 years in International Cricket.
How many more years he will be in International Cricket?
Soon his son will make debut and he will be playing with his son.

yeah, let him play till 2011 world cup as it is in India & make him retire. Even new players are not progressing well. Rohit Sharma, Raina, Kholi, Uthappa & Dinesh Karthick, Badrinath. That's why we bring back Dravid who is never ODI player. Ganguly consider ODI player rather than test. Dravid & Laxman are classic Test player

he is so experienced that he never miss a chance to play any weak country or in good batting condition . he waited so hard to best seamer get retired or loose their speed. and now again he start scoring 100s again weak bowling attack. So dont be selfish guys let him enjoy his 100s for few more years

Yeah, the guy goes on to pile on runs in WC every time(only exception being 2007WC) and the rest of the team crumbles so its his fault right!

All the great players who play 4 or more than 4 world cup won one world cup for their country because of their experience. During Sachin times we get only one T20 world when he is fortunatly not playing. Because he cant play under pressure, he always fails in decisive mathches of world cup

He is only good for league matches or bilateral series preferably against bangladesh, kenya, zimbabwe , westindies, baramuda. Sorry..... not against bangladesh they throw us out in WC2007, where his big friend Saurav ganguly 54 out of 95 balls

@Sunil
He has an average of 48 in ODIs and 52 in tests over the last two years. I dont believe there are many Indian batsmen ho played better then him to deserve a place in side. Moreover if you believe he will go on to make 50 ODI centuries whats the problem? He is making runs right?
