Well DONE SHAKIB
by brian Mcnurry on Oct 09, 2009 03:53 AM

Those of you PEOPLE who have trouble digesting this news, please look at the record. Shakib played 8 tests last year. 2 against South Africa, 2 against Sri Lanka, 2 againts New Zeland, and 2 against WI. He got 5 wickets 5 times, twice againts SA, once against SL, once NZ (7 wickets in an innings there), and once WI. During this time SA and SL were number 2 and 3 ranked test teams. Besides getting wickets, he had a batting average of around 36. This award was determined by vote from numerous journalists. So before spewing ignorance and hatred and partiality, please do your research, please.

looks like a consolation prize

This guy played bunch of games against ZIM and depleted WI. It is ridiculous choice. Awards should be based on performance and strength of opponents, not sympathy. He has not faced any single good side that I know of. Did he face any team other than ZIM and WI B team?

Actually Shakib played 8 tests last year, 2 against South Africa, 2 against New Zealand, 2 against Sri Lanka, 2 against WI. He got 5 wickets twice against SA, 1 against NZ (7 wickets), 1 against SL, one against WI. You just don't know the facts.

Dhoni was absolutely correct about Younis risking playing himself with a fractured finger..ultimately that dolly catch younis dropped (becos of finger fracture) turned out to be the turning point of their exit in semis....pakis r foolish
