Reddy

Ben came from the Australian side.

If you don't follow cricket, does that become Wisden's problem now?... :)

Fair Enough!!!

Fantastic!!! The comittie has done a fair and good job by selecting this young lad.Personally I kept following throughout the year. He performed well and he deserve it.Though Guati missed, this has gone to right guy. This guy has performed with any support of other team mates. You can see all the other nominees were supported by their team even but he has single handedly carried B'desh in the recent time. Great work!! keep going!! But dont be overconfidence, it is long way to reach on Top.

Shakib you are new 'SAH' of cricket of one day cricket. hearty congratulations. in my view it is the game which is great who give birth to great players. we should appreciate performance of players and not question who is an indian, bangladeshi or australian. wish GG to become greater to greatest.

He is a youngster received a good encouragement.
Let us wish him all the best.
Bangladesh like pakistan is yet come up in a civilized manner. Such encouragements will help towards their civilization process.

What, according to you, is the civilization process by the way?
Why do you thing Bangladesh and Pakistan are not civilized nations while ours is?

This should encourage the youngster. Nice to see that the awards are going to all nations playing cricket. It will boost the morale of the team and will create a fan base in their country. They must get the opportunites to play agianst quality oponents than WI B team, Zimbabwe..

Wisden loses it yet again
by sandeep kumar on Oct 08, 2009 03:55 PM  | Hide replies

Wisden, the so-called bible, always does this to Indian cricket..i clearly remember in 2001, none of Sachins 100's were in the top 100, while lesser batsmen from Eng and Aus were there. Also, I dont remember a wisden top 5 having any Indian cricketer.
And now a batsmen who had a great run in all the 3 formats, among the very very few who have done so, finds himself rejected. But he'll come back even stronger and the hammer the attacks all over

Wisden selected Dilip Vengsarkar and then Mohammed Azharuddin as Wisden Cricketers of the year. Why do we need to find bias in everything. They have a set format and they rate accordingly. Sachin is the greatest ever exponent of the game. He doesnt need titles in his introduction.

dear sandeep, wisden top 5 is selected on the basis on performance in england, so only county players and players of country who tour england in that perticular year are picked in top 5.
