Our team was such that it didnt have bench strength also in case of injuries!! We have players who show promise earlier on (like Irfan, Ishaant, R.P although I dont like R.P as he is inconsistent, Rohit Sharma, etc) after they get into contracts, advertisements, brand ambassadors, etc become liability!!Partly media is responsible for the same and our boys cant put their feet on the ground due to allround praise.
Ishaant consistently has been bowling short and wide in every over he's bowling. Venky and his boys just watch laptop (God only knows what are they watching on lapies!!).
No bowler ever bowled yorkers, bouncers consistently on a regular basis in CT. Ashish Nehra bowled in patches but not consistently! But, what we dont have to teach our bowlers is short and wide outside the off stump stuff and the way a batsman should score runs!! Even a bunny and a newcomer to cricket, Tim Paine (Aussie WK) scored 56 in rain marred match whereas in the whole tournament he was a flop show with scores of 29, 56, 4, etc (I dont remember exactly his scores)!!
We know only to give away free and easy runs to anyone and its not suprising to see the best figures for bowling and highest for batting is against India!!
Do we ever bowl to our field setup? Nothing can be done as our bowling coach itself is Prasad. As his last name suggests, he gives prasad to our bowlers who are listless and cant threaten the opposition! One can take the horse to a pond but, cant force him to drink water.

"Bowling to the likes of Ricky Ponting and Michael Hussey is not an easy task. I don't think our bowlers committed any mistakes. We should give credit to opposition batsmen for playing so well" says Amit mishra and I simply cant held my laughter back!! I want to express my frustation also by his idiotic, silly and amateurish comments.
Do we ever practice? Or just to show to the reporters that we do some practice we do that??
I agree to what he said "our bowlers didnt commit any mistakes"!!! If the likes of Agarkar, Kanitkar, Harvinder Singh, Venkatesh Prasad, etc were there in our team still, then the score would have been 400-450!!
Just by having a laptop (showing off the manufacturer's logo and symbol) in front of you doesnt help! making sense of it also helps a lot. Do we ever analyze our game and the opposition's strength and weakness along with individuals strength and weakness? Or we just look at the laptop and do something else? Or we just dont want to do and remain where we are!! We make money even if we lose! So, what the hell difference does it make whether we work hard or not as they get money from advertisements!!
I agree that bowling to the likes of Ricky and Hussey is not an easy task but, its not that we cant come out with a solution or a weakness unless we dont want!! Ricky has tendency earlier on to play back in crease and thus, be LBW (cleverly plotted by Kiwis in Final) and Hussey earlier on doesnt like spinners. Cant we bowl to them in the same way??

Team Selection

Selectors never make correct decisions. The players who suit to sub continent pitches, style of bowling and batting like Y Pathan cant overcome seaming or fast pitches in Aus,Eng,SA,NZ. Irfan Pathan who is a swing bowler along with Praveen Kumar should be picked in favorable conditions. Ishant suits only to Test Cricket. It doesnt matter if you play 4 specialist bowlers or 5 ,any team can score 300 against India. Rahul Dravid doesn't fit in the team purely because he slows down the running rate and puts additional pressure on the other batsmen batting with him. After playing so much ODI cricket, he still hits the ball straight to the fielders and steps down the track for a single, either gets himself run-out or runs his partner out. Gambhir,Sachin,Sehwag,Raina,Y Pathan ,Yuvraj all r aggresive players, Dravid is a misfit.
Bowling has always been a problem. Harbhajan has never been consistent. India needs Sehwag, Yuvraj, Zaheer and one good bowler.

Simple if you got good bowlers and they are disciplined then Batsmen of what ever great caliber find it hard to score at will with them.

the game with Aus, India had kept the the Aussie Batsmen well below par until Ishant Sharma came on to bowl!

Likewise against Pakistan the bowlers bowled short and got cut or guided to 3rd man so often! Harbahjan was guilty of lack luster bowling!

hey I really appreciate the way you have commented abt our guys. They are only capable of playing T20 and thts the reason they are putting blames on each other rather than working on their mistakes. I really pitty on Amit who is directly saying that he is not capable of bowling to batsmen like hussey and ponting. If I was in the selection comitee I would ask this so called young gun to really justify why he shud be in the team??? As he himself is proving his incapability.

Exactly! If they can't bowl to players like Ponting and Hussey and only want to play against mediocre batsmen then it would be better if they sit at home! And let's call back "fighter" Kumble from retirement! He can still win some matches for us!

Shut Up (Team India) - part 1 !!!
by unknown on Oct 05, 2009 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

You guys (Dhoni, Amit...) plz don't giv different excuses for the early exit from CT. There is no need you (Team India) to do any justice with your failure in CT becoz though we are cricket fans and might be do not understand cricket tactics so well and deeply like you grate players (Dhoni, Amit etc..) do but at least we (cricket fans) are not blind and can understand the reality with seeing the Australian team winning/performing like a champion (though they are not still the same team as they were earlier) against the same opponents and in same conditions.

You (Dhoni, Amit...) guys give excuses like some bowling errors, few things went wrong or it was a bad day and blah blah blah...

But the fact is that you (Team India) guys have never that hunger to win, dominance power, passion of wiining for the country and sport, which Austallians ever show in their cricket. And thats why they are not only today is defending their title but also proving that they are the real champs of two top and best format of cricket game which is Test Cricket and ODI. And for your knowledge guys(Team India) T-20 is never real cricket (cricket skill), where you (team india) say yourself champion. T-20 is a format where any team can win more with luck and by just going one trick in favour, its never a game of skills. ODI and Test are real cricket where you don't need more luck or one trick to win. You need skills, temprament and performance to win.

.....
