Players who could be good all-rounders
by naveen dhanerwal on Nov 12, 2009 11:42 AM

The players who could be good all-rounder for us but couldn’t because of poor planning, poor handling and discriminating captaincy!

Ajit Agarkar : Showed his skill with the bat many a times wining games in last overs. Any one can check his records when other failed but he provided good support to the other end!
Made a 109* in test in England!
Still has a records fastest 50 for india!
A records fastest 50 wickets for india and over all 2nd after Mendis.

Irfan pathan: Could be a useful all-rounder but due to un-necessary importance and unwise use spoiled his cricket.

Sachin, Sehwag: Mo. Ajharudheen used Sachin very well but after him is used less. Like Jaysurya he could have completed his 10 overs in every match but wasn’t used well. Any one can check his bowling record under Ajahrudheen. The same is with Sehwag. Also they too aren’t very serious on their bowling ability.

Ganguly too couldn’t make himself a regular bowler instead of an occasional bowler.

wadekar says we were missing zaheer.
by Dhantannan on Nov 12, 2009 11:30 AM

in this series so lost.
in CT we were missing yuvi and viru so lost.
we always have excuse for losses and blame it on players not available.
truth is we don't deliver as a unit. outstanding peformance by just one or two players is very dangerous.

Wadekar blames batting failure for series loss to Australia
by haridas rao on Nov 12, 2009 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

typical comments by an old timer - exonerate tendulkar , blame the youngsters ,and half heartedly blame the rest.
lrete get the facts straight - there was only one new-comer .That was Jadeja .The rest of the team were all experienced performers . So according to Wadekar we lost because of Jadeja !
The fact is that Yuvraj,Dhoni .Tendulkar , gambhir & Raina had only one good innings each .Sehwag was a failure .our main strike bowlers Harbhajan & Ishant never looked as though they were going to take wickets. And lastly the Aussies were superior in all aspects.
Admit the truth & don't make Jadeja a scapegoat.

modern day crickert

Unlike in the past present day cricketers are in too many endorsements and media glare. No wonder they do not perform well. They should remain focussed on their performance.

Credibility of products
by rajendra rao on Nov 12, 2009 10:17 AM  | Hide replies

What is the credibility of the products?
1. Dhoni - Chawanyaprash. Of no use, didn't help to win.
2.Yuvraj - Revital . Even taking the pills Yuvraj looked drained of energy.
3.Sachin - Boost. Only 1 game that he can speak of. Bosst surely isn't helping.
4. RP -Cloud 9 - Better left alone. RP thoda aur pee

tell us something new sir. every time we lose, we have either of these 5 reasons
1. fatigue
2.batting failure
3.bowling failure
4.fielding failure
5. injury
This is like SRK's five expression acting.
Pls do not fool us.

Some Points
by sanath on Nov 12, 2009 10:02 AM  | Hide replies

Sehwag - can anybody advise this guy that scoring 80 of 80 is far better than 30 of 6 ? He swats more than he bats nowadays !

Gambhir - The way he is walking down the pitch, looks like he knows he has to walk to the pavilion soon ! Overconfidence ! thy second name is ...

Yuvraj - the less said the better - earlier he used to score 50 and save 50 - nowadays endorsements have given him a paunch (or arrogance?) which does not allow him to bend before anybody or anything (not even a cricket ball!) - so then how can he field ?

Dhoni - he is busy scripting excuses to deliver -

Harbhajan - somebody put a cork in his mouth - he opens it loud, gives predictions, making others red-faced after failing to deliver.

Why is Irfan Pathan not being selected ? We all know that he is not bowling as well as he used to long ago, but then Dhoni is also not batting as well as he used to do then (almost during the same period)- Pathan is at least a dependable bat who, if given confidence, can bat well on the top of the order at a steady rate, and also bowl far better than Jadeja or Kohli.

The bowlers - the we-are-here-to-take-the-beating-thank-you group !

the sponsors with their wierd sense of timing choose to put an ad with their faces the moment they lose their wicket or are hit for a boundary ! Even in the last match, as Yuvraj was walking back to the pavilion, the ad came on with him running a treadmill saying I have to keep going becoz thakna mana hain ! Cruel joke !

Everyone agrees that Ishant needs a break to prolong his career but not Dhoni,,
He stuck with R P Singh till he totally confirmed to finish / burn him out,, now trying same with Kohli,,, Jadeja,,,,
He can at least rotate the players,,,

Why is that Kohli was selected when he had only 1 odd big score in the U-19 cup...
Whereas the star of the U-19 who was unbeaten
i.e TANMAY SRIVASTAVA is no where to be seen...
Is it that selectors are blind or what???????
