TENDULKAR IS ONE OF GREATEST BATSMEN IN THE WORLD. ALLRIGHT THERE IS NO SECOND OPINION ABOUT THAT.BUT IS HE A GREAT FINISHER?CERTAINLY NOT AS THE KNOCK AGAINST AUSTRALIA AT HYDERABAD SHOWED.AFTER BRINGING INDIA SO CLOSE TO VICTORY HE THREW HIS WKT AWAY, BY PLAYING A RASH STROKE.HE MAY HAVE SCORED 175. BUT WHAT IS THE USE.EVEN 30 OR 40 WHICH HELPS THE TEAM'S CAUSE IS MORE VALUABLE THAN 175 OR 200 OR 250.SACHIN DID THE SAME THING IN CHENNAI TEST AGAINST PAKISTHAN IN 1999.THIS IS WHERE BRIAN LARA IS BETTER THAN SACHIN.PERSONAL RECORDS ARE OKAY BUT WHAT MATTERS IS HOW MANY OF SACHIN'S CENTURIES HAS HELPED INDIA WIN A MATCH OR A TOURNAMENT. HE HAS FAILED IN IMPORTANT MATCHES LIKE THE FINAL OF 2003 WORLD CUP AND ALSO IN THE 2007 WORLD CUP AGAINST SRILANKA IN THE CRUCIAL MATCH AGAINST SRILANKA. EVEN IN THE 1996 SEMIFINAL AGAINST SRILANKA HE MADE RUNS BUT FAILED TO TAKE THE TEAM TO VICTORY. THE SAME STORY WILL CONTINUE IN THE COMING YEARS. SACHIN WILL END UP SCORING 20,000 ODD RUNS, 50 CENTURIES IN ODI BUT THE TEAM WILL NOT ACHIEVE ANYTHING.SACHIN MAY BE THE GREATEST PLAYER BUT I WILL RATE SEHWAG AND YUVRAJ AS THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS AHEAD OF SACHIN.

Please have the complete stats in front of you before commenting..
Sachin's 32 centuries in wins is more than any other batsman has scored in his entire career, which is a telling statistic of how far ahead of the pack Tendulkar is.
He averages almost 57 in matches that India win, but the slumps to 33 in games India lose
The so called Yuvraj and Sehwag did not finish the game in Natwest Final chasing 326. It was kaif who had to give a supporting hand. Even in the third ODI Yuvraj didn't stay till the end Dhoni gave a supporting hand.
So try to appreciate when they deserve if possible rather than blindly criticizing.
I do have lot of respect to Yuvraj and Sehwag as they are match winners I had to mention their names as you were referring them for comparison.

one player sscoring 175 runs n other 10 players scoring just 172 runs only. that shows sachin is 10 times better than others.

Dear brother, indian team is there, because Sachin is there in indian team. since howlong you are watching cricket match?where is your so called most valuable players. he is only the opener. To make a base for others. But he did it perfectly without giving any chance to the bowlers. you like critics better not to watch cricket match. go and watch sreeshanth's quarrel with others.

this has been history. barring a couple of instances, sachin has never stayed at the pitch to take the team through to the victory. he always part when the team need him most.

Unlikely for an opener to take team all the way to victory coz he will have to bat all 50 overs. Who has done better than SRT?
