Very uncertainity in the team. Very unbalanced. The shear winning all recent matches mostly just because of Sehwag and Gambir whenever they clicked. Nothing due to captaincy or SACHIN in the team. BCCI need to balance the team. There should no be any regional bias. It should be purely merit. Whoever is recommending whether Dhoni, selectors, Srikanth, BCCI members should only look at I am an Indian.

I guess you are right. When Ganguly & Dravid were their,India were 6 or 7 in ODI ranking & 6 or 7 in Test ranking. Now its only No2 in ODI & Rank 2 in Test. Indian team is very unstable.Sehwag has not got a ODI hundred for last 35-40 matches, but yes he has played his part. Dhoni obviously hasnt done anything right,he just scored consistently thruoughout last year, averaging 59 with ODI no.1 batsman, probably he should have done more as you say. Eventhough they made 1st round exit in T20,Champions trophy they still hold on to their ranks. Very unstable indeed. Ya,the last point. Badrinath has made only 5800 runs in Ranji with a paltry avg of 59 . He is also from TamilNadu as that of Srikanth. There are lots of Regional Bias going on, that is why he is still warming the benches. Well said,Pranav. (Note:No offence meant to Dravid,Ganguly, they are true greats)
I hope that India will not suffer anymore from the hands of Sachin Tendulkar who plays for his records only. He was playing very slow cricket at Mohali one-dayer because his only ambition was to complete his 17000 runs. He never want India to win there. I hope he will complete his record today and will play for Indian win in the future. I also think that he should retire from One day cricket because he is not a force to rekon with in oneday cricket.

the worry is sachin being a legend nobody dares drop him. infact India is better off with gambhir and veeru as openers who are considered the best in the wOrld by many but unfortunately here they cannot open because of sachin

You need to learn from ponting. See how cleverly he is rotating his bowlers on pretext of injury.

Hope it doesnot turn 2-5. When the Indian top order players are batting they are never ready to fetch the singles. Only heroic boundaries are not the way to score. Back to basics. Team India plz be aware that Aussies can to anything starting from sledging upto obstructing the batsman in the run.
Indian team is essentially batsmen central team it doesn't matter even if we have 11 tendulkars in the team, we will continue to come up with occasional good performances and raise expectations and then will fall flat on face.
I suppose quality fast bowling is the problem. You take any team in the world in any era which was considered best, they had one thing in common - genuine world class bowling. Fast bowling is one weapon which makes even an ordinary team competent. Teams with world class bowlers are always in a chance to stage come back in the match whereas no matter how good the batsmen are there is always a chance of loosing the plot. Afterall, it all require five deliveries to dismiss 5 batsmen whereas batsmen have to play 50 overs to make a match winning total. If Tendulkar is out cheaply his involvement in batting ends there whereas if Waqar Younis who used to often give 40 in his 5 overs would pick up wickets at a later stage. In effect he always had a chance to make an impact.
There was a time when Waqar and Akram were at their peak they would fancy bowling out an opposition team needing 45 off last 10 with six wickets in hand. Team well poised on 175 for 3 were shot at 205 when the duo were at their best. You take McGrath out of the picture Australia suddenly looks beatable. In fact the only 2 test victories in Australia for India in recent years have come when McGrath was not playing! West Indies were a dominant force when 4 fast bowlers were spitti

Continued from above
West Indies were a dominant force when 4 fast bowlers were spitting fire.
My personal observation is that batsmen of team with fast bowlers always look more confident and play fearlessly because they are aware of the fact their bowlers have the capability to defend small totals, in turn making batsmen more productive. Just look at the way all of the West Indies batsmen used to play in their own destructive style with a confidence of pace battery taking care even if they loose the plot. Just when fast bowlers in West Indies got extinct the quality of their batsmanship also suffered. I remember when Tendulkar used to be at his destructive best he used to still a little tentative because he knew if he is out, gone are the chances of India's victory.
If India harbors any hope of being the number 1 side in the world it has to unearth some genuine world class fast bowlers else it will always be the case of flattering to deceive.

very true!! that's the reason from day 1 i've been telling IF THE BATSMEN click WE WIN else we lose!! India can never produce world class fast bowlers because there aren't any!! it needs loads of motivation and grooming to identify and encourage fast bowlers in India but that is not the case here!! BCCI is best suited for organising BIG TOURNAMENTS and attract foregin teams so that it will pull the crowd!

I agree BCCI hasn't done much to encourage fast bowler, however I am also disappointed by the fact inspire of presence of MRF Pace Academy Indid could only produce one fast bowler - Javagal Srinath, who was a good bowler but not really great.
Aussies seems to be coming up with victories with their second XI. That doesnt say India is weak, it says Australia has a strong domestic structure than in India. Players make their transition to International cricket easier than Indian counterparts. But one extra thing they dont carry is , pressure to perform as in India. If a player is given a chance, that too not at his natural position,is always expected to score a hundred or take heaps of wickets in the first watch. The difference in australian team is,when a debutant comes in, they put at exactly the same number he has played on, same number he has scored tons of runs in domestic matches. And most of their players make their debut at mid twenties or late twenties. They have toiled away at domestic matches and are mature and fit to make it to international level.Whereas in India, we rarely see a player, who was introduced to international cricket at teenage sustain his potential. The one man who had done this is Sachin. So many youngsters who made their debut in their teens are nowhere to be seen now, including Bhajji who from wicket taker has stooped to runblocker. Here, there are so many people who say these maches are fixed. If these matches are fixed, i would say it is acting at greatest level.Just look at the way Siddle & Bollinger bowled in previous match. They bowled 3 unplayable over in the first 15 overs. It was awesome stuff. We do have lots of potential in our guys, problem is how you groom them.

Yours is a valuable asessment. The unaddressed problem here is the attitude of the Indian audience. We are not giving enough chances for players to perform!!! They are under pressure in front of TV!! Their position in the team is uncertain!! One unfortunate day, a wrong plan cost them their cricket life in the national team!! How can they play with their natural potential!! Our audience does not tolerate a defeat!! In the event of a defeat, they are demanding sacking of a player and accuse the Captain!! We are also like apples and oranges, ppl belonging to different states, having different priorities!! We are also quite ungrateful to talented players who contributed in the past but not playing upto their potential in a match or two!!

You only talk about the pressure, the players are in but y not you talk about the kind of money/publicity they are getting because of the audience..?
