I THINK THE KKR FRANCHISE GOT WRONG TEAM AND CAPTAIN. IN FACT SHAHRUKH SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE CAPTAIN.AND JUHI CHAWLA WICKET KEEPER, HER HUSBAND JAY MEHTA THE OPENING BATSMAN. AND ALL OF SRK'S CHAMCHAS LIKE KARAN JOHAR, FARAH KHAN, ARJUN RAMPAL, RANI MUKHERJI, ADITYA CHOPRA SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE TEAM. ALSO MAY BE BUCHANAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE TEAM AS WELL.THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A DEADLY PLAYING ELEVEN.KKR WOULD HAVE LIFTED THE IPL UP WITHOUT PLAYING A SINGLE BALL IN EVERY MATCH. THE OPPOSITION TEAM WOULD HAVE LAUGHED AND LAUGHED LIKE ANYTHING AND SEEING THE UNCONTROLLABLE LAUGHTER THE UMPIRES WOULD HAVE GIVEN HE CUP TO KKR. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A MORE ENTERTAINING IPL. I THINK SRK CAN TRY IN THE NEXT IPL. AFTER ALL SRK KNOWS MORE ABOUT CRICKET THAN ONE MR SUNIL GAVASKAR.
KKR mainly failed because of useless SRK who ran away from the team like a typical pakistani coward. Both SRK and Ganguly are useless but I have never seen coward like SRK, who ran away to dance for 1.5 crores in marriage. SRK should be called Coward King. At least Ganguly was trying his best to work with the team, I appreciate his efforts for that.

Altaf, I dont like SRK as an actor. But your views are to be strongly condemned to be calling him a pakistani and also accusing him that he has run away. After all his team has to go and play good consistent cricket if they have to win. He can only cheer them up, but cannot ensure they win on the field. It would be nice if you have kind words even if you want to criticize someone in future. Let us have some respect for ourselves and others when we post messages on forums like these.

well worded and i appreciate your befitting reply. Team has to play as unit if it wants to win the matches, which in the case KKR was missing. But I do not agree with Ishant saying that MacCullan was not responsbile. He was the captain of the team and unfortunately he lacks experience and vision - a person simply making a couple of runs once in a blue moon cannot be appointed as a captain. The coah also failed miserably with his high handedness - avoiding indian players and giving more importance and prominence to other players, especially those from australia. I remember the article written by gavaskar on the subject and it just fits into the situation. Even if a team fails, does not matter, the team owner makes money by way o advertisement / commercials. More hype was given to this KKR than what it was required to be.
SRK revealed his miser nature and his insatiable greed for money. He invested in cricket thinking it will fetch him great returns but at the same time he was not willing to invest too much and opted for the cheapest players available in the auction, even by compromising on quality of the players. Let me explain it a bit. The only high priced recognizable batsman in the team at the time of auction last year was Chris Gayle. McCulam and Hogg proved to be success with their bat but were not sought after during the auction as little proof was available abt their ability in 20-20. So SRK got them at cheap rates. Similarly no one was interested in Ponting due to his poor form and was purchased by SRK at cheap rates. In the bowling department also there were no heavyweight other than Ishant Sharma. Purchase of Shoib Akthar and Salman Butt etc were more due to a call from his own BLOOD ie what we call "LAHU KI PUKAAR". No wonder that with such a miserly and narrow minded attitude he had the weakest team on paper and which showed in their results.

I thought Rajasthan Royals was the weakest team on paper and they went on to win championship last year. And what you call miser is according to me a well thought business decision. Whats wrong in saving on exorbitantly priced players who are good for nothing. If he had signed expensive players like Peterson and Flintoff, would it have been any better?
Win or loss of any team is the effort of whole team not only any player of team due to only one person team does not win or loss so Kolkata Knight Riders loosing eight matches continuously due to leadership of MCCullum or coach John Buchannan but the fact was that whole teams efforts is less than other teams effort, so they loss the matches . As a captain some decision was wrong about fielding, bating and bowling so the loss of match is not only by captain it is whole team hard work and consistency. So the Ishant sharma does not blame to any body about there loss.
There are few things done behind the actual playing in the ground .First create a passion , a motivation and 4 d's in every individual - desire ,dedication , discipline and determination - not necessarily in the same order . The way it has been handled is bad . First Ganguly did not do badly in the last edition. He may not be young ! I mean today we speak 30 plus as old in cricket. He is an aggressive captain , backed up players and we have seen he has brought out the best in the Indian players under very demanding conditions .He is the biggining of an era - a passion to win and fairly - I emphasise this aspect because Australinas mostly do not mind How they win. Buchanan has managed a very succesful team - when you have players of such calibre - you do not require Einstein .The managers role to be precise - get ordinary people to do extra ordinary things - RR last year ,last year two extra ordinary players who performed and to a great extent this year.Multiple capataincy , a bone of contention Why was it not tried ? Collective failure is like saying not fixing the problem . SRK can deliver tons of dialougue and show management skills in films written by some one else - in real life he is a flop . The body language from the first match to the last was same - defeatist . If you know the game , you will not put Ganguly in the boundary bitibg his nails .You need to involve him.He knows the Indian players best.Back stage including SRK are after money ,hence failed.

For your kind information Ganguly was fully involved in the team . SRK handed him the responsibility to make the team . And look how useless players like dinda , shukla , saha etc he brought...
Sack ganguly out and KKR will definitely perform well . Being the most experienced player in the side instead of leading from the front he is making ducks and playing like a little nervous boy who has been forced to play cricket at international level .

and really, KKR needs a new owner ... a real leader and not a romantic hero..

Fantastic bowlers can perform well in any team ...He has a long way to go before being called a fantastic bowler...
He averages 13 and strikes at 91 in T20. Its not Mcgrath. He is called ganguly, Royal Bengal Tiger. Wonder how ppl argue him to be made captain, when he even don't deserve place in the team.

if dhoni is a good captain then Ganguly is most good captian, dhoni is good batsman, then ganguly is a top class batsman. I think you dont know the cricket...But records shows ganguly in all high records...

Where the whole team plays then he will play otherwise he will go in single digit, unlike ganguly had won(80%) of the match where he scored 50 or 100. But dhoni(DHOBI) is 0 in that....Even he dont know how to play the shots, he is basically wood cutter...

stop living in the past glory man...:) Gavskar & kapil also have a very good record...so do want them to come back into the team..That was a golden period of GAnguly..which has come to an end..every player has to come to this stage sooner or later..:)
