The other two teams I like are our next souther compats..Bangalore, despite their defeat. They played good to be in the 2nd spot..Anil Kumble was good as a captain:)

Rajasthan Royals I like their team for the way they play on ground:)

It was grrrrrrrrt to see the 2 most happening cities of India against each other for finals:)

MANTE CARLO OF CRICKET
by KRISHNAMURTHY NATARAJAN on May 25, 2009 04:18 PM

While the Grand Prix was going on for FI and the French Open started at Paris, the great Cricket Bonanza was at SA. What a feast of Cricket, Fun & Entertainment. All those written off as oldies proved that experience is an asset and made the tournament a great success. Hail Mr. Modi and wish more & more of IPL.
As far as the final game, it was en exciting one and Congrads to Deccan for winning even after a DUCK by Gilly but with smart acts behind the stumps and a matching captaincy with Anil. GREAT.

The Return of the Aged
by pravin sundararaman on May 25, 2009 02:45 PM  | Hide replies

Though IPL2 saw a fair share of the young stars, it was really the oldies (so to say) who ruled the roost. Gilly's fire brand knock in the semis pulled Decaan through, Kumble inspiring leadership and his first over almost won the match for RCB. While people may say Dravid's miss wasnt costly, remember that the spilt catch robbed RCB of momentum. However, Dravid played some critical knocks to bring them so far.

It was also inspiring to see Jayasuriya fielding with passion at age of 39. So too was his partnerhip with Sachin in one of the matches where they decimated the attack in turns.. magical stuff!

While it may be said that T20 is a batsman's game, even spinners have had their say in the crucial overs... Murali in the semis for CSK, Ojha throughout the tournament & Jakati in many of the matches.

It was also a fitting result that Deccan won. Gilly's captaincy is to be admired. He kept his best bowlers in reserve till the end and egged on his fielders to throw themsleves at eveything. This is what captaincy is about! Dhoni sadly missed the trick again like last year when he promoted himself. Maybe Dhoni has lost his explosive style and is now more useful when finishing the game when the runs-balls equation is symmetric.

Kudos to the organisers & South Africa for a good tournament !

Gilchrist created a new innovation of standing up to the stumps in the last over and moved back only for the last ball. He has defended a similar score that Chennai Kings failed to miserably in the other semi final

This North South divide is a bit too much to swallow specially in India though its there world over..the reason its more in India is due to racial discrimination based on colour Factor which makes it that ur an Kallu Southi so ur low caste..we are Gora Northies so we are high caste..infact the entire south has been plated as Kalla Madrasis..its sad but horrible truth..unless Northies get over this dirty racial discrmination the nation will always remain divided...the southies are no much different otherise..they practise the same amongst their own..so basically this discrimation is backed by Hindu religion alone..fortified by castism and based on varnas which is again sanctified by Hindusim alone..so unless Hinduism bans racial discrimination based on colour, caste, other factors this nation will be open to divisive factors..hope to see an day when all Indians are treated equally..
