Reason for DC win
by Ramesh Vadivelu on May 26, 2009 02:07 PM  | Hide replies

Absolutlly it is fixed. Because both the finalists have finished at the bottom in IPL-08. So no one has betted on them. So Modi and co made them win the IPL 09. So that they can earn more. See in IPL 2010 MI or KKR will win.

The difference between australians and other players is their attitude. Their skill can be matched by other players also. Its their fearlessness, never say die spirit, ability to raise their game when it matters the most that makes them stand out from the rest. If the indian players could learn that aspect from these players, they'll make the indian team much stronger. RR is one team where you can see this attitude. In terms of talent they are at the bottom of the pile, its their attitude that gets them wins.

I agree partially. I feel the best team ever to play under pressure and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat was the Pakistan team under Imran Khan.
Coming to this final the RC team had too many south africans and they are traditional chokers. They don't deliver when they are most wanted.

Royal Lesson 2
by Pandu on May 25, 2009 08:23 PM  | Hide replies

IPL or BPL, whatever it is, this final is a lesson for all captains of toss winning sides. Anil Kumble having won the toss, gave Deccan Chargers to bat first. I think, Deccan Chargers won the battle there itself. It is not because Symonds or Bymonds... ha ha..

Because, batting second makes the team members mentally, physically weak and that was true evident in Robin Utappa. He is an agressive batsman like Dhoni, Sehwag. But, he was not willing to hit the ball to six, when they required 12 runs in 2 balls.
One may argue with me that, Kumble took Adam Gilchirst out off 3rd ball. But, that joy remained short. Every player will be fresh and scores runs, what so ever the pitch is.
So, If India reaches finals of ICC world Cup, and wins the toss, they must choose to bat first. Then, if they loose also, it does n't make any much difference.

Boss, Uttapa is not an aggressive batsman. Kumble made the right decission by electing the field first. The match turned to Deccan's fevour soon Taylor got out. Other wise RCB would have won the game and u would have commented like Kumble made the correct decission by electing the field .. If you were playing finals u would have realised. Simly sitting and commentin is easy ma ,..

It depends Mr, I think it is better to chase so that you know the target in advance and can plan for it. If you bat first in the final, you will always be in doubt what sort of target to set for the opposition and you will always worry that the opposition might chase it easily.

Ojha should have been man of series for his brilliant bowling all through. Gilchrist apart from 85 and 2 other knocks didnt deserve. Ojha aggressive attitude rocks and he's a superstar
