Hyderabad was better than Bangalore....
by domainking on May 25, 2009 04:12 PM  | Hide replies

I think hyderabad deserved to win the title. They have 4 superstars in their team if not one the others will perform. Suman was very impressive throughout and can be a prospect for indian cricket for 50 overs game. Manish panday has tons of luck in scoring his century and 48. I dont think he will become super star any day... Uthappa messed up the last over with the only shot he like to play by coming forward... In the end.. Kumble deserved man of the match and Hyderabad deserved to be winners.. ! Congrats Deccan chargers..You really rokced IPL2,,!!

the way the team was united and finished as a winner is a fairy tell.and i sincerely congratulate the hard work by lehmaan and gilly to bring the whole team together ..it reamined as a low profile team however got the basic rights and the man gilly lead by example...i also congratulate the owner who told last night that he had full faith on team even after loss in 2008 ipl which is a very good sign...

i think ipl is a boon for all the surplus cricketing talent the counttry is throwing up any wonder th 11 for the playing india is tough selection. without IPL this talent would have been lost. now they are flourishng thanks to IPL. we need similar IPL for other sports. it will help expand the bench strength in india.

2009 ipl performance is a threat to T-20 world cup campaign to india as most of the overseas players specially gibbs,ab ,dumniy, morkel and other aussies has excelled ..and most indian players have failed excluding rohit, raina and rp singh ...that cn be a concern for dhoni

this is stupid analysis the bench strength has increased. today even Dhonie has enough captaincy challenge around. No body can be complacent. now even the Selectors.

that is really a stupid saying.. Dhoni's strenghth , Raina's talent, Viru's explosion, Ghambir's constancy, Harbhajan's spin, YuvRaj's talent, Pathan's spotiveness, R.P Singh's line and length , Ishanth's fast hook, and many more talented youngster's talent ll not get demolished by a tournament Mahesh,,..,, Think before comment. Dont post whatever u feel like saying. Cricket is a sport and is not a marriage to think what if the son in law punishes his daughter ..

IPL final --DC's Victory
by Ravi Gopal on May 25, 2009 04:07 PM  | Hide replies

I wonder how come not even a single captain of our teams Dhoni, Sachin, Kumble, Ganguly... are as lively, as active, cool and interactive as 37 year old Adam Gilchrist. He really deserves Applause!!
This man might have thought that they may loose the game, but just see his luck and his attitude to win in the last overs, DC just dint give up!! Thats why they WON!!

Dhobi luck will not contiue forever.
Please note that India win when key players in top form whether its test or oneday or 20-20.
Dhobi/ganguly are just ordinary player overhyped by media.
Even captaincywise kumble is far better than these two. Also a performer. Not like dhobi/dada -who are in team just by captaincy & politics.
Dada attaitude in KKR team was pathetic. He knows that he doesn't deserve a place in T20 format & hence want to be a captan. Both dada & SRK are useless. Good to see them at bottom.

Moron Uthappa
by arshad saeed on May 25, 2009 03:31 PM  | Hide replies

The spineless batting (if it can be called batting) displayed by the moron Uthappa resulted in RCB losing the match. Accepted he can't bowl, he can't field and drops lolly catches, can't he show some guts while batting?
Except a half-century his contribution to the team in IPL is absolutely nothing. In the Final the idiot allowed the bowlers to take strike instead of covering them, refused to take runs and wasted precious balls in the last overs instead of going for the big shots. All he wanted to do was to save his own wicket...to hell with the match.

RCB swapped an experienced bowler Zaheer Khan for this liability Uthappa and have paid the price. Team management would do well to throw him out as soon as possible as he is festering like cancer in the team for very long.

He is said to be from Coorg and Coorgis are very brave people. This man (?) definitely does not belong to them as he has amply exhibited it by his gutless and impotent performances.

uthappa did nt performed well in this IPL so its mistake of team management to put him in the team. but uthappa ws not responsible for the final defeat.he tried his best. he did nt gave strike to kumble bcoz- kumble can bat n can make run bt he can nt play big shots which uthappa cn play. although uthappa could nt do that but we can not blame him for that becoz he tried and its always tough for any batsman to make 15-16 run in last over while chasing specially for an out of form batsman. In match between MI and RR harbhajan was being blamed that why he gave strike to malinga and nanda. same could have been happened here also.

its not at all uthappa mistake..the turning point was dravid failure, and top order couldnt make runs adn did not make partnerships ..so we cnt expect some magic from last batsman..that too in a pressure match like final.

mahesh,

by no stretch of imagination uthappa can be a tailender. he is supposed to be the most experienced big hitter RCB has apart from boucher, ryder, pieterson. i dont think anybody in right frame of mind who saw the finals would justify or even pardon the way uthappa played. he was not able connect even a single ball properly.
