SEHWAG EXPOSED YET AGAIN, NON-STRETEGIST AS A CAPTAIN ?
by vaibhav kumar on May 23, 2009 02:13 PM  | Hide replies

SEHWAG HAS BEEN HAILED, PRAISED AND LOVED FOR HIS INSTINCTIVE ANF BINDAAS STYLE. BUT THEN HE FAILED ON BIG OCCASIONS TIME AND TIME AGAIN.

HE MADE RUNS TONS OF THEM WHEN THERE IS NO PRESSURE. BUT SELDOM (YES YOU CAN COUNT AN OCCASION OR TWO) DELIVERED UNDER PRESSURE. FOR ME, HE IS GREAT TO WATCH BUT FAR FROM BEING A GREAT PLAYER.

THIS TIME HIS CAPTAINSHIP GOT EXPOSED THROUGHOUT THE TOURNAMENT. HE WON MATCHES WHICH WERE ONE-SIDED BUT NEVER WHICH GONE TO WIRE OR WHERE THE OPPOSITION PUT THEM ON MET. IN SEMI-FINAL, GILCHRIST PLAYED AND HE WAS ALLOWED TO PLAY, COURTESY LACKLUSTER THINKING AND STRATEGY OF SEHWAG. AS A LEADER, HE SHOULD HAVE SHOWN SENSE OF URGENCY, BUT INSTEAD HE GOT OVERAWED BY GILLY'S ATTACK. POOR SEHWAG. HE IS A TYPCIAL DELHITE MENTALITY AND HERE DHONI IS FAR FAR AHEAD OF HIM AS A CAPTIN.

SEHWAG ON CURRENT GROUNDS BEING A NON-TECTICIAN AND NON-STRATEGIST DO NOT DESERVE TO BE VICE CAPTIN OF TEAM INDIA. HE IS THERE FOR HIS BATTING RECORD AND NOT SURELY FOR HIS SHREWEDNESS AS A LEADER.

False.Don't seem to know how people can call not making runs as bad captaincy!..Were you not around when he called up Sangwan in the 11th over against chargers when he picked up crucial wickets? What exactly is your 'non-strategist' theory indeed? His team's results till the semi-finals speak for themselves and you are out just cos they got kicked out?His only captaincy blunder according to me was the non-inclusion of McGrath. When the team continuously performs well automatically,is the captain expected to create fuss?

There was nothing Sehwag could or for that matter even Warne could have done when Gilly was in such devastating mood. Remember RR lost to KKR.

It was Delhi's suicide for not playing Mc Grath
by Anand on May 23, 2009 02:08 PM  | Hide replies

Sehwag and Co shud have known Dirk Nannes extremes. He can be best and at the same time the worst too. His previous records have shown this. Its their mere arrogance and paid price for making the legendry Mc Grath to warm bench for the whole tournament. Not even a single match for an hero of the cricket world. Mc Grath would have known where to bowl to Gilly to stop his blaze. Its mere Delhi stupid arrogance paid the price for them..IPL final

not that delhi had planed to keep him in covers till the finals ... since the coach had ventt ed out frustration that they want more foriegn players so that they get to play cgrath .... main question .... did they think that alll the rest are way better than mcgrath ????

Dude...they scored 54 runs in 7.4 overs...Thats not particularly slow...if u compare it with the rate at which Gilly scored, may be it is slow...the reqd rate was only abt 5 runs an over...there wasn't any need to be in a hurry...

Head to Head in IPL...........
by Bhasmasur Rakshas on May 23, 2009 01:41 PM  | Hide replies

There are 8 teams in the IPL playing 2 at a time...so, the number of head to heads is 8c2 equal to 28......

In these 28 head to heads, the head to head that bothers me the most and disturbs me, is the Kings 11 vs Chennai head to head......

CSK vs Kings 11 in 2 IPLs is 5-0 to CSK.....

Can someone explain this to me?????????? I'am at a loss!!

I think i totally agree with you....Modi should make it a little more interesting...........

And 5 foreign players per team will be perfect....
There should be 12 teams with top 6 teams of previous IPL getting automatic qualification......

And for the bottom 2 places, the other 6 teams should be involved in playoffs.....and the top 2 move into the main IPL league.....
