This gentleman is headed for India captaincy. Dhoni has seen it and doing everything possible to have him axed from the side by slotting him in unenviable batting slots so that when he fails, that could be held against him. If Dhon's protege Raina had half as much skills, there was some reason to promote him. That the pyrotechnics indulged in by Raina has come off might help him in the short-term, but India needs a Rohit more than a Raina or Uthappa.

Rohit performance in the international scene is very inconsistent and he invariably plays muchbetter in ipl as he did last time around but when it comes to playing for india he plays much below par.Just go through his strike rate and the average in both odi and T20 in last one year.........

Rohit is good that doesnt make raina bad, infact even raina is very talented and the main reason he is in the team is his consistency unlike rohit

Silk ans Mathews, you both are right dudes. Raina too is very talented but Rohit is better choise for one down slot. Rohit has better potential for the most crucial slot no 3. Dhoni has wasted his so far sending him so late in batting order. He's not a batsman who come in and starts playing his shots. He takes his time and build his inng very well. You can not trust on Raina when comes Tests. Rohit has better capabilitis for this no both in Tests and ODIs.

If Rohit has the capabilities he had to prove in international matches where he was given ample opportunities. Iam sure no other batsmen would have got that much chances to prove himself than Rohit. I can say he is still lucky to survive inspite of lacklustre performance. Can you just remember one match winning good innings which Rohit played for India? If u compare him with likes of Raina and Yusuf Pathan even Irfan Pathan, they can single handedly win matches and proved it for India before. I am sure Rohit will get his chances soon..So at any cost he needs to prove himself or else it would be waste of talent.
Its a treat to watch Rohit Sharma batting. One of the very clean strikers of the ball. Now he is turning out to be a wicket taking bowler too. Its an asset for Indian team going forward just at an age of 20 yrs.

Please dont decide based on T20 matches. The matches are of poor quality and without passion, simply like a club cricket and for quick bucks.
