Semi Finals' chances
by vathula on May 11, 2009 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

Looks like:
CSK and DD are almost in
KKR is out.
The remaining two places:
Very good chance: DC
Not so good chance: RCB
Assuming it plays out like the above, then the last position will be fought betwee KXIP, MI and RR.
If MI wins the next 2 matches, they are almost in. Tues against KXIP and thurs against RR. The thursday match between RR and MI is very crucial. Betwen these 3, only MI has a positive NRR.

sachin and ganguly
by seejoy lazar on May 11, 2009 12:34 PM

we indians are obsessed with heroism. nothing wrong in that . we all have some one to look up to.at the same time we dont appreciate others success which is very bad. if u talk about cricket most of them admire sachin than ganguly, now dhoni , viru , yuvi etc..and that the reason we find the most positive or negative things being wtitten about sachin than ganguly at what ever them do.. this is a fact..BUT we should firstlearn to have team spirit and then importance should be given to individuals. We are indians first..

DC
DD
CSK and

I am still sticking with these.
Interestingly, these are the only 4 teams that have a positive NRR

the prob with RR is their run rate.if MI win the nxt match and RR lose todays match ,MI will ahead of RR.its time RR shd improve their RR

I agree. It is sad to see such good players criticized like this. But then, if you look at the other end of the spectrum, there are also quite a few that blindly support these, even when they make mistakes/ fail. They are not accepting even constructive criticism.
Both sides are hooging these forums.

About cricket
by S. B. Patil on May 11, 2009 12:07 PM  | Hide replies

PPL should not greet cricketers with few success & should not criticize for few failure especially towards senior cricketers. IPL is to earn money nothing else. It is an opportunity for youngster to show their talent whereas for senior cricketers it is better source of income. So we should be emotional with the results of the matches. Just enjoy the games.. time pass...

Sachin represents cricket......

In non playing cricket nations people only know one thing about cricket that is S.Tendulkar. Like M.Jordan in Basketball, Tiger Woods in Golf, M.Schumacher in F1, S.Tendulkar in Cricket.

t20, specially IPL is not a type of cricket to abuse anybody.
one can understand if WC matches are lost becoz of lousy performances, there would be harsh critcism.

In T-20 we can't judge a team strength or a player ability. Defending T-20 WC tiltle will be tough task for India this time. Not only India but also any team will find difficulty to show consistency in this format.

Why people talk bad about Sachin Tendulkar?
by omkar kale on May 11, 2009 11:39 AM  | Hide replies

There are people, although very few in numbers- whose only objective in life is to malign SRT. Such people belong to one or all of the following categories:

People who, unfortunately, were brought up around unhealthy environments that make them attention seekers (I mean they have been deprived of love and affection in their childhood. Such people always says just opposite to what is universally true or accepted by experts)

People who could not achieve whatever little they wanted to (Such people hate people who are best in what they do)

Cricketers (Including Indian national team) who suffer from inferiority complex because of Sachin (talking big in front of media does not always means that the person is confident—likewise, not all the actors and actress are confident)

People who are hired by players’ sponsors to increase the values of their players by maligning Sachin (very cheap marketing stunt). What can I say; they are the poor souls, as they have to earn their livelihood by maligning others.

hmm.. i like this augument.
I always say learn to respect legends.
people are rediculing sachin for his failure in t20, forgeting that he is 36.
when he was 16, in a t20 match he clobbered three sixes in an over to none other than abdul qadir. even public of pak was shocked and amazed .
