their batting is centred around devillers. dilshan failed in last 2 matches. ganbhir, sehwag totally out of form. so we can say, they lucky are to be on top. they shall only get to semis that is all. in semis they shal get beating like last time.

I don't think DD will make it final. They will lost to CSK or RR/DC in semifinal.

yes.. lets see if, DC also makes it to semis. RR vs DC is crucial today, for both of them.

wat a joker u are...delhi is the best team in the competiton..and the fact that they are thrashing opponents so easily without viru proves it.
Re: Re: Re: Re: I am not at all convinced about DD
by HI on May 11, 2009 11:10 AM
if you analyse the whole tournament only Devillers and Dilshan played . Dilshan also missed in last 2 matches. Gambhir played in only one match ( courtsey dropped catches by KKR) so it is one/two man team.! such teams do not go the distance.

u forgot that bowling can also win matches..look at daredevils bowling..they have been consistently restricting the opposition below 140..i dont think any other team has a bowling attack better then delhi right now...and so good is their bowling...that their middle order is not even required to bat..only a fool can say that such a team is on top coz they are lucky..lol

it is one thing being on top and another winning the tournament. I mean to say, their batting not tested. bowling was never under pressure. semis and finals are diffrent ball game altogther.
Dada has seldom won a match on his own performance . He is made an icon and is hyped by media because it is controlled by bongs ( courtsy Bhaskar Ghosh and Ratin Bose) Dada has no self respect and so are his fans . All over the world knows this and in fact even after his return it took 18 innings for him to score a century. He was scoring mostly in 30's and 40's but due to Left bogies like Somnath BCCI had no option. Even after being dropped by Vengsarkar he went to Srikanth so that he may try to have a so called glorious exit.

Wonderful reply Mr.Manna. Thank you. This idiot (VS Giri) once wrote ISRO is a success because it is located in South India and run by Southies! What else can one expect from biased person like him!
Mon, May 11 02:35 AM Shahrukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders may be struggling at the bottom in the second season of Indian Premier League, but in terms of brand value it is the richest team of the twenty-twenty cricket tournament, whose collective valuation has been now pegged at $2 billion. At the same time, Rajasthan Royals, partly owned by another Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, has emerged as the best team in terms of return on investment, although it is ranked third in terms of brand value.
The valuation exercise of the entire IPL franchise, along with the individual teams, have been conducted by UK-based international brand valuation consultancy Brand Finance Plc. "The entire enterprise is valued at $2.01 billion," Brand Finance said, adding, its methodology took into account various revenue lines such as broadcasting, IPL sponsorship, team sponsorship, merchandising and gate receipts as well as the effect of performance, the presence of iconic players, etc. KKR has been ranked the most valued team with a brand value of $42.1 million, followed by Mumbai Indians ($41.6 million).

hi pavas, just wants to know is this becz of marketing or becz of to an extent due to dada & players like aktkar, pointing..
Re: Re: nd value
by Pavas Agarwal on May 11, 2009 09:16 AM
Obviously Brand value comes through strong marketing and highflyers like dada, ponting, shoaib helps.
Re: Re: Re: nd value
by guy giggling on May 11, 2009 10:29 AM
Brand value also raises with controversies like multiple captains. They have started the concept but didn't have the guts to carry it through.
Probably SRK knew that his side is going to fare bad and hence the controversies
Re: Re: nd value

The point or crux of the matter is,,dont get emotional with ur favorite team, chor marbo, its just money game n nothing else and we are the payer.
Re: nd value
by seejoy lazar on May 11, 2009 10:00 AM
yes ipl is all about money but i still fail to understand how srk can drop dada from captancy when it is going to affect him financially. 70% or more people support kkr just bec of dada .and even if we look from cricketing point of view there is no better captain that dada to lead kkr.it proves srk is a moron

I ant RCB to lift this IPL cup....Kumble is too good a captain and he deserves this win no doubt.
Konwing Ganguly, what else can you expect if he is not made as the captain????? Can any sensible person believe that the KKR can do only this much and not more!! This is all managed by Ganguly, since he is not made as the captain. It is time the cricketing world un derstand his game plan and get rid of him from the scene. Look how he looks so sober and act innocent and make a few runs himself, so that the finger will not point to him??!! Bkwas and Bakwas. All how matter must sit up and take a hard look at his arrogance and teach him a good lesson.

Fake Rao..with assumed name!!!
If SRK was made instead of Hero an extra... how would he have behaved????? This was conspiracy by SRK/Buchanan to humiliate dada... see SRK himself got humilated.. Dada is bigger icon of Indian cricket than SRK is of cheap bollywood films .... Grow up you stupid fellow

ROA OR WHATEREVER UR NAME..DADA WILL PLAY IPL 2010 AND WILL ALSO CAPTAIN HIS TEAM....AND PEOPLE LIKE U WILL STILL BE COMMENTING . IT HAPPENS...

Look at yourself. Another nonsense, idiotic Ganguly hater. How this is 'managed' by Ganguly? How is he controlling McCullums's awful form? You just do not like him, that's fine. But come up with some valid points, otherwise you just proved yourself stupid moron, as you probably are. Get a life.

Re: Why KKR are doing so badly??
by BHARAT on May 11, 2009 09:54 AM
You cannot blame Ganguly for this setback to KKR. In fact, this is all the doing of Shahrukh Khan to give undue authority to team coach. His refuting Sunil Gavaskar arrogantly and persistance of experimenting with 4 captains costed him this debacle. This is his mis understanding of the game and his trials for converting the game to some filmy suspence thriller on bollywood style. In the movies any tom dick and harry would have single handedly won the match but in this team game, you cannot win the matches without proper team efforts. Ganguly is doing whatever he can to win the match as this is his reputation at stack and not of the coach or the sponsor.
Re: Why KKR are doing so badly??
by Chintu on May 11, 2009 08:36 AM
India is made up of armchair critics like you who neither understand the game nor can stomach a fighter like Ganguly. Going by your foolish statement, it would appear that even the foreign players like Mccullum, Gayle are being 'managed' by Ganguly and hence not performing. Ganguly and Hodge (how come he is not influnced by Ganguly as per your silly logic)are the only two who have contributed to KKR in IPL 2. Had you any cricketing sense, you would have understood what a fighter that man is looking at his innings against Rajasthan or yesterday against Delhi.

The 3 foreign babus made 7 runs yesterday . Do u really think Ganguly manipulated them .
