Even after winning the covetted Aslam Cup after decaeds NO ONE to feliciate them or sponsor the teams. 15 lakh each were paid to the Cricketers from the Public Funds-No One Even checked what our Hockey Players received

I think you are talking of Sultan Azlan Shah cup. You are partially correct, but we can blame large fanfare of cricket for the sorry state of other sports. However, as far as IPL is concerned, it is certainly not cricket. When a six is hit, its beauty is described in terms of DLF maximum and similarly when a fast yorker crashes into stumps, it is a citi moment of success. Every post match presentation ceremony, sponsors are being thanked! In between the match, commentators create fake excitement and camera is never panned towards empty stands. Camera follows Lalit modi as if he is a superstar and TV hosts frequently shout, "Welcome to the greatest show on earth". Huh!!

U R SPOT ON. Just hope that this commercialisation does not get transcended to Test Cricket. Problem people do not realise that Cricket is a major sport in only 9/10 countries
