. Forget talking on the phone, or disobeying the no parking sign. Stand in lines at the train stations, people will push you out of the way unless you do not learn to push back. All your civil sense and culture out of the door. And what about people spitting everywhere that is the most disgusting thing ever, chewing tobacco and spitting.
This country is not gonna change, there are only 2 kinds of people here, the ones that exploit and ones that get exploited, you pick a side.

There is no patriotism in this country; people are just surviving their day to day lives, frustrated with everything.
Ask any person walking on the streets, If they want to continue living in India or want to get out. Everyone wants to get out of here, there is no loyalty here. Its scavenger country.
Get all you can, lie, cheat and steal no ethics, no principles.
What is the point of blaming the politicians, they are opportunist, they exploit cause people get exploited, why blame them.
People who burn effigies do so only to release their frustration. I used to live in India, but now I am settled in the US, I do however, travel to India frequently for business.
Last year I was visiting a friend in Mumbai, it was late afternoon and we were driving back from lunch. Suddenly, a little girl just ran across the road, right away, my friend hit the brakes, however, he still nudged the girl, but there was no accident, she was crying and was on the street.
As we got out to help her, some guy came running from nowhere and started hitting my friend. And my friend was trying to help the girl. This is the real mentality here.
This is not the US or any other first world country.
People do not take personal responsibility and it starts in their houses, how many times I have seen people dump trash outside their house. Forget talking on the phone, or disobeying the no parking sign. Stand in lines at the train stations, people will push you out of the way unless you do not learn

MC, your observations are valid but I guess this is true of many developing democratic nations. India struggles with its democracy as much as with its diverse population. But while the public behviour may be loathsome, they make very good friends and the family values are great and supportive. One should learn to appreciate the many positives India offers rather than escape to impersonal and lonely western world.

Its true that there r 100s of problems in India. Its also true that the attitude of many people is peculiar 2 say the least. There is corruption,poverty,.....basic sanitation is also unavailable. But despite all this, running away is not a solution, my friend; its only going 2 accentuate the problems. When u know that there are problems, u have 2 come forward & deal with it. U cant jst say that its other people's problems & go away. Unless we ourselves do something abt it, how is the situation going 2 improve? Alternatively, jst enjoy ur life in the US & stop whining abt India; when u dont stay here any longer, what is ur problem?
I have been to other countries like UK, Switzerland, Netherlands, France, etc. Obviously they r better than India in a number of ways. But I prefer 2 stay & work in India - to make my own little contribution to this country; simply because this is MY country. This is the only place I can call home, warts and all. It is much better than living as a second class citizen in a foreign country, no matter how developed it may be. I know what it is to live as somebody "different".

You must be a cyinic and a frustrated person for the reasons known only to you. So you are taking out your frustrations through this site by lashing out at Indians in general. You must understand one thing and that is every country has its good and bad people. I have visited USA and Australia and I can quote many exapmles of bad behaviours there also. So, instead of harping always on minus points learn to appreciate the plus points in every one. If you make conscious efforts you will definitely be albe to find some plus points in our people.

Toss was crucial in yesterdays match... we have seen last match between SA vs Ind, its 130 just target that to with very good batting track of india, but failed.... the same thing is also happened to SA. But Pakistan played with lot of confidence than SA... Afridi was superb

Well ! This is very good for Pakistan's point of view that this team has shown it's best. What a phenomenal plyayer Shahid Afridi is. Shahid Afridi and Umar Gul are best match winner of Pakistan in today's era.

Umar Gul is a gem for Pak. Really he is a big big difference. Still I thing Pak should include Tanveer for winning the world cup.

This TV Channel does it again
by Orient Mystique on Jun 19, 2009 10:25 AM  | Hide replies

Disgusting indeed.

As I already pointed out, it crowed "Mahi & Co bite the dust", having no cricket sense to appreciate that Team India ddidn't lose by tons of runs or loads of wickets the three matches they played in Super 8 stage.

Now when Pakistan has just managed to scrape through with a very nominal 7 run win, this very channel today describes it by displaying the caption "Pakistan STORMS into the final".

Anybody with even the slightest of knowledge of English language will understand that "storming into the final" will imply a win by atleast 30-40 runs if the team was batting first or by 5-6 wickets if batting second, with atleast a couple of overs to spare.

One wonders what pleasure the owners and editor of this channel get by such distortion and misrepresentation of facts!
