Shameful Indian media & public
by S Narain on Jun 19, 2009 01:05 PM  | Hide replies

Indian media was criticising Pakis...& helping them to strenghten their team .

whereas Indian team was being falsely praised to lull them into belief that they are champions!!!!!!
Shameful Indian media & stupid Indian Public!!!!

The same media & petty minded Indian public was resposible to humiliate Dada who was first to defeat Pakis in Pak in 2004( first in 50 years)...
This is how we treat our truely great cricketers.....
shameful....

Afridi had all the talent but no brains but now I think he is maturing .But thoughout his career his body language on the field is worth noting he is giving his 100% on the field and his energy carries onto everyone on the field.

by ashish sharma on Jun 19, 2009 01:01 PM  | Hide replies

Afridi was excellent and so was Umar Gul...Pakistan faith on Afridi really paid back.

India is not their in this World Cup. Now who can stop Pakistan.

Fact is, yesterday I was supporting Pakistan as while I was watching the game I found myself in No Mans Land and was attracted towards the energetic and magnetic side.

But still wants West Indies to win.

If not India atleast Indies.

The faith in the player makes a good team, look at Pakistan they have shown faith in Afridi and what a contribution he gave to this teams win, why cant the BCCI shows faith in their player, one bad tour for a new comer and he is out for rest of his career, but if a senior player like Sachin plays 100 Innings also without a Century he remains in the team , Irfan should have given a chance in the last two matches, he is Far Far better then the likes of Jadeja, Rohit and raina, he should have been promoted at number 3 or 4 but unfortunately Team India only goes forer reputation.

BCCI and Dhoni please save our Cricket from going down, use your brains.

There is no 'interest' in Islam; not a moral practice
by Imran Nazir on Jun 19, 2009 01:01 PM

Interest is immoral. Shahid Afridi has done very well. But to say he has redeemed the selectors' faith with interest is an incorrect way of appreciating his splendid batting and bowling.

I am a big fan of you as a player ,as a gentleman cricketer,as ever smiling face even in distress will teach other captains and player world over as what is cricket means to a player .I have never seen you disputed with any body including Umpire last 10 years or more you are in this game .Pakistan achievement under your captaincy by reachin final of 20-20 WCII is comendable despite world over ban on Pakistan due to militancy and talibanism Pakistan is facing .I hope cricket will put Pakistan to a great democratic secular country like our country India and I wish all round progress of the people of pakistan and wish you win 20-20 WCII

Indians should learn from Pak
by Sai Prakash on Jun 19, 2009 12:48 PM  | Hide replies

India on paper look much stronger than the present Pak team and in fact easily beat them in the warm up game. However, the present Indian team lacks spark, hunger to win and team spirit UNLIKE the Pakis.

Well done Pakis! I being an Indian still wanted the arrogant SA to lose last night and thanks to the Boom Boom Afridi, they did.

We all know that INDIA did not perform upto their standards.
Of course as you said we are a stronger team on paper than Pakistan and for a matter of fact even stronger than S.Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies.
Our record in the last 3 years is ample proof of that.
But, once in a while we commit mistakes regularly , like we did in this tournament.
But, it does not show us in poor light.
Guys, We will show all the world -- what a force we are to reckon with-- in the later parto fthis year.
Keep your spirits up Guys, We are INDIANS and we will bounce back.
JAI HO BHARAT !!!!!!!

message for Try Indian - Why should Prakash be ashamed? Dont mix sports with Politics. I call Prakash a True Indian who supports good play. Instead of Pakistan if any other team played well last night - Prakash will still want Indian to learn & move ahead. But your comment would change. Stop being hypocrite. Owais (Pakistani)

Great Bowling
by Prasad Vasudevan on Jun 19, 2009 12:45 PM  | Hide replies

Superb bowling by Afridi and Best T-20 bowler Umar Gul. To consistently bowl yorkers for four overs with such pace and control, is a great thing. I wish our bowlers were bowl at least one decent yorker per over, the results could have been different.
