Media stay away from the Cricket for a while.
by sanjeevkumar madhavan on Jun 17, 2009 11:20 AM  | Hide replies

I would say cricket is being ruined by media.
not by telecasting the matches, but by poking into unwanted areas and coming up with gossips and stories.! You guys are feeding people with all rubbish news!

Just stay away from Indian cricket. dont telecast their return from England. Dont interview Dhoni or idiots like Shastri or Gavaskar (who would say anything they like if they have a mic. and camera in front of them) we the people are fed up with too much of cricket news!

#1) Selectors should appoint these 3 as captains for the next 2 years
T20: Yuvraj
Test: Sehwag
ODI: Dhoni

#2) Captains should not have any say in the teams selected. Only the coach and selectors select the team.

#3) Captain should just be another member but a key member of the XI
This way, neither too much credit is given to the captain nor too much criticism.

Poor thought.

If any player deserve captaincy rather than Dhoni then that man is G.Gambhir. Team should be selected only by captain because he is responsible for team performance.

yes. he can be considered seriously.
as his name suggests,
he shall be pretty serious captain!.

Why should the captain bear full responsibility? Cricket is a team game. Dhoni is not so good in test/ T20 but is still very good on ODI because he has become a 'singles' player now. Gambhir does not have any experience as captain.

Gambhir is the player who is fixed in all formats. Yuvi never looks confident as captain. Viru lacks basics of cricket knowledge.
Captain should be one for all formats. We have seen comparison between Kumble and Dhoni in past which was not good.

Yuvi was well supported by Sanga and Mahela. The same way he can be supported by seniors. One good thing abt Yuvi is he is emotional but never egoistic in captaincy. Very visible in KXIP.

emotional and loose temper are not good qualities of captaincy.. :)

Good points.. but do you think this will be a bigger politics when captain will not take any decision for selection.. which player is good and which is bad.. instead of this.. selector team will play more politics !!

the 3 cpatains and some senior past players like Kumble etc can select the selectors, rather than a regional selection.
Unfortunately, today, the captains (Dhoni, Ganguly etc) have too many preferences. That is even worse.

After Ganguly interfere, it was possible to stop regional politics in selection.

Personally, I like democratic captains like Sehwag or Yuvi or Dravid. I dont like authoritarians like Dhoni or Ganguly. This style works only for a couple of years and then fail.

We got best result in Ganguly and Dhoni era.
Even Kumble said very balanced words for Dhoni yesterday. He said a one series failure is acceptable when we are winning each tournamnet from last 2 years.

How can you say that before seeing him 2-3 tournaments more?
Same was said for Dravid, but after WC debacle we won against SA and Eng.

Don't forget the 80s and 90s where all players belong to Delhi or Mumbai. After captain got power we are seeing players from small towns.

That is because Mumbaikars are interested in money and not cricket. This is a trend all over india/ world. the big cities will not produce great sportsmen, all are trying to become investment bankers!

some players overlap in formats.
then conflict can arise .

If there is one country where the overlap can be reduced that will be india. there is plenty of talent in india, but unfortunately regional and personal factors affect the selection.

I never seen this type of indian team in my life. Dhoni should be punished. He is not fit for the indian team skipper. He was eating all the balls in the matches against SA and England. He did not make a simple attempt to hit six or four. Why he is doing like this. ? Is he doing match fixing.? Why that bull shit guy like Ishant is in team? He is the most expensive indian bowler in this T20 world cup. He should be dropped. Chance should be given to Praveen Kumar and first of all indian team captaincy should be handed over to Yuvraj singh.

T-20 is not for judging performance.....

It's nature of media and indian fans, when things goes wrong they lost their patience. India lost only three T-20 and we have forgotten their success of NZ tour.

one more loss for india. they had an easy total as they cn play spin well so on slow wkt they wer suppose to play well bt they could nt do. 1 thing , which i believe, very few ppl have noticed is the dhoni run out incident. first dhoni ran out for a single which was near impossible. then he himself come as runner for harbhajan(surprisingly). if anybody remember then 1 ball b4 harbhajan got out, he did nt took an easy single. yuvraj ws half pitch away frm the crease. he ws shocked n it cn be read frm his face. It seems that there is some controvercy betwn yuvraj n dhoni n they hv shown it in ysterday match.they were playing wid personal bias. wht I feels is-lack of unity in the team tht cause india's earlier exit frm the tournament. it seems controvercy among the 4 main players- dhoni, yuvraj, harbhajan and sehwag. their face cn be read during the match. from the start of the world cup we could nt find usual smile on their face. something is goin wrong n they need some counceller.

In all three lost matches clearly you can see that Indian players Physically were there but their mind was wondering some where else and as far as the fatique is concern, seven player from SA team were playing IPL too.
