fatigue is no excuse
by rajeangrand on Jun 17, 2009 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

I also agree to the fact that the foreign players benefitted more not only in learning niceties of T20 but also the weakness of the indian players. Now I'm pretty sure that every club pace bowler would be itching to bowl a short pitched stuff at indian batsmen.

The foreign players are made of flesh and bone too just like the indian players. I do not subscribe to the fatigue syndrome at all.

Lucky Run is over
by Super Star on Jun 17, 2009 11:10 AM

Every captain runs his luck for some time. Ganguly did it longest till he took India to World Cup finals in 2003. Dravid took India to a record 17 consecutive victoruies chasing, till the world cup exit at the hands of Bangladesh. Then Dhoni took over. The win at T20 world cup was inspired by some super batting by Yuvraj, Robin Uthappa and super bowling by Sreesanth and R P Singh. That win mistakenly was taken as the arrival of a new leader. In fact, Dhoni is a good slogger-batsman who can be a match winner at times. But the media hype about young players v/s seniors, really spoiled the young players and resulted in exit of all seniors from Dhoni's team. Now we have a bunch of conceited, over-rated, over-paid and under-talented players who are fit for playing in Ranji Trophy only....like Raina, Rohit Sharma etc. Unfortunately, Greg Chappel's experimentations resulted in recruitment of Raina and exit of Mohammad Kaif, who besides being an excellent fielder was a true finisher of game. Based on recent performances and applying same yardstick that was applied to Saurav Ganguly, Dhoni should be removed as captain and made to compete with Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel for his place as wicket keeper. No team has removed all seniors for T20. This stupid idea is of Dhoni and the Indian media. It is the lack of experience which resulted in our super humiliating performance at England.

choose the team
by shrinivas jakkul on Jun 17, 2009 11:09 AM

its useless to blame IPL for the defeat in the world cup, the foreign players who had played in the IPL had been performing well in the world cup also. the team selection has to be proper and the captain had to get his best men in. dhoni had relied too much on ishant sharma and ignored the good bowling by irfan pathan in the match againt WI and RP Singh in the match against England. we did not had good opening pair and rohit sharma is incapable of opening the innings

i agree.
munaf is getting unnecessary negative feedback for his fielding.
his bowling is too good to be ignored.

yuvraj dhoni conflict
by deewaker pandey on Jun 17, 2009 11:09 AM

one more loss for india. they had an easy total as they cn play spin well so on slow wkt they wer suppose to play well bt they could nt do. 1 thing , which i believe, very few ppl have noticed is the dhoni run out incident. first dhoni ran out for a single which was near impossible. then he himself come as runner for harbhajan(surprisingly). if anybody remember then 1 ball b4 harbhajan got out, he did nt took an easy single. yuvraj ws half pitch away frm the crease. he ws shocked n it cn be read frm his face. It seems that there is some controvercy betwn yuvraj n dhoni n they hv shown it in ysterday match.they were playing wid personal bias. wht I feels is-lack of unity in the team tht cause india's earlier exit frm the tournament. it seems controvercy among the 4 main players- dhoni, yuvraj, harbhajan and sehwag. their face cn be read during the match. from the start of the world cup we could nt find usual smile on their face. something is goin wrong n they need some counceller.

no its not correct ,but
1. THey defeated austrlia in aus in CBSeries
2. srilanka in srilanka (which no indian team did in past)
3. also newzeland.

BUT , there is no excuse for the current performance, we cant always live in the past,as that is not the wat champions perform there should be consistency,
Dhoni should be blamed for this.
why he picked jadeja again, & if he sends him after harbajan in the batting order it clearly shows he does not have faith in his ability, then why did he picked him again ,is he arrogant?
jadeja cant blow a opposition off with his hitting.

To Dhoni supporters!

Why did Dhoni decide to stick with same team, opting to drop all-rounder Irfan and keep all rounder Jadeja when Irfan has shown better form than Jadeja in WC.Its plain arrogance on Dhoni's part to try prove his point at the expense of Indian team!Jadeja's bowling has been par with any of the our part time spinners-Yuvi,Rohit or Yusuf and his batting is wasted-yet he is in the team. And why the heck is Ishant still in playing 11 when every team has thrashed his bowling? If you need just 11 players, why take a squad of 14 or 16?Is it only needed when injury occurs??And keeping Ojha out on a spinning track-does Dhoni even think before picking the team or what?Stop showing favouritism n pick players based on form! And show some genuine emotion behind your words-even when Dhoni's saying he made mistakes n crap, his face shows none of the regret or guilt in his words.Trying to remind ppl of old WC losses to hide this disgusting losing streak(no wins in super 8) is such a fickle attempt.Your attitude has shown that you cannot lead the team in slump and that is the mark of a real captain-you'll be lucky to hang to the cap,let alone captain's cap!Time to show some spine BCCI!!!

Saurav Ganguly was asked to compete for his place with Yuvraj. Let Dhoni now compete for his place with Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel. Remove him as captain.

You think Dhoni shud even compete with Karthik n Patel for wicket keeping spot??? ;) It would be a joke!Dhoni is and never was in their range as a keeper. His batting and captaincy luck hid his keeping flaws. Now he has become a liability to team.It would still be ok to bear with him if he didnt show such arrogance as he did last time-sticking to losing team??Tell me what was his enlightened vision n reason for keeping the same team for last match??

I don’t know what has happened to me. Now a day I feel very happy when India loose any match under Dhoni captainship reason I like to abuse Dhoni a lot. Anyway I would like Dhoni to continue so that he can loose some more matches and Record of best captains stays with Ex captain Saurav Gangully.

Dhoni's success as captain was pure luck. He has now run out of luck. It is now time to sack him as captain and make him fight for his place with proper performance as batsman and as wicket keeper. Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv Patel played better in IPL both as wicket keepers and as batsmen. So why favour Dhoni. Let the same rule that was applied to Ganguly be applied to Dhoni also.

unemployed media..
by sameer sadana on Jun 17, 2009 11:07 AM  | Hide replies

Wonder while watching tv news channels, one needs to ask a question, are these really news channels, the way they have been criticizing indian team making personal comments on the players, without seeing the reason for the fall out,the team is fatigued and worn out due to constant matches and they need rest...after all it is just a game, if winning was assured for one team, how many people would sit and watch the game..Talking of the news channels the bunch of jokers who run their channels should see the quality of their reporting who create a melodrama of the reporting, wearing clothes bought out of circus, speaking loud in the tone which sounds more like advertising for dant manjan powder in a haryana roadways bus. If they have to do reporting on rape, they will show the re-run of the extract a zillion times, here one has to see that the the victim has been raped only once by the real accused rest is courtesy media. I personally feel that these comedians without a humour and loudmouths and foulmouths have nothing better to show as news with their channels...
