test cricket is still the best entertainment for a cricket buff...the thrill of game unfolding session by session is something which no T20 or ODI can match...i feel ODI cud slowly fade away..with more teams opting for T20s..but Test cricket has stayed and will stay forever

Who will watch test match?? Only people who dont have any jobs for five days like you will watch test cricket.
30 years ago when one dayers came, like of gavaskar and boycots cried.. Now its turn of tendulkars and pontings.. who cares what he says? people will forget him in 5-10 years after he retires.. Sports is for entertainment and its the people who will decide what is to be played.. There is nothin like real cricket.. Whatever u play is real.. T20 is the future of game, whether anyone likes it or not.. And it will definitely globalize the game also.. t20 is a great equalizer where underdogs also have good chace just like soccer..

i agree with anuj. T20 is a format which is grabbed by both hands by the fast moving culture (FMC). i cannot disagree more with the fact that test cricket is the best for true lovers of cricket, but then it is entertainment business as hansie cronje once said. and to become a great competitor to football, this is the only viable format.
Nowadays I feel One day match also boring. Like t20 because of quick, entertainment, excitement and innovative strokes. Very soon test match will be a history. Whether u like it or not, T20 is here to stay.
"I don't think there is anybody on the Indian team who wouldn't want to captain such a fantastic side. Not because they want to grab it or whatever, but because ... it is a fabulous team," sachin said.
Without test cricket, there's no difference between cricket and baseball. With test cricket you learn all the basics of cricket and those skills you can apply to ODI and T20. Otherwise how can one learn to play drives and cuts or playing quality spin? you can play a good T20 innings with slogs & back pedal over the keeper shots. Bolwers would just learn to bowl yorkers and slow balls without learning quality swing/seam bowling.

true. but test ckt (esp their pitches) also has to learn giving results after 5 long days. else its meaningless to end 5day match as draw
