it is all about money folks!!! he just wants to sell his books like hot pancakes.... and he knows that targetting Indians will earn his book a lot of publicity.... if he would have targetted any other team, nobody would have cared a damn... so my advice to u all is dont give cheap publicity to this m0r0n's book... just ignore it and refrain from buying or reading it!!

KK:

"Targetting Indians"?..... I quote from the above article:

"Tendulkar has been lauded, and rightly so, as one of the very top batsmen in the history of cricket...But is he an effective T20 player at this stage of his career?" questioned the former Australia coach in his latest book

"Yet their subdued performances highlight that Test match temperament does not necessarily ensure prolonged success in the T20 game," Buchanan said.

Buchanan likened Ganguly to Australian great Ian Chappell and said, "Ganguly was the model for the new breed of confident and combative Indian cricketers. Ganguly showed that Indian cricket could stand up for itself. He is similar in that way to Ian Chappell who stood up for what he believed and was not afraid to take on the administration," he said.

These are "targetting Indians" comments?.... Hmmmmmm....

God knows what else in the form of adulation do you want the whole world to write about us...... You don't want objectivity..... you just want sycophancy.....

:)

In the book (page 74), Gavaskar "is blinkered by bias and tradition". Yuvraj Singh, according to Kings XI Punjab coach Tom Moody (page 123), "would just walk off leaving all his gear and rubbish because he was used to someone else picking up after him". And Harbhajan is compared to a boxer (page 14). "He comes into the ring, lays a few jabs, but then retreats, dancing away from the counter-punching".

Yuvraj Singh in a sense tries to be a modern-day Sourav Ganguly, but I don't think he has the charisma or the dignity with which Ganguly carries himself

Wasn't Gavaskar responsible for the infighting in the team after we won the 85 World Championship in Australia and how the team fared badly from then on??

Yuvraj is anyway a spoiled cricketer as well as Bhajji with so many violations of conduct against his name. Maybe these 2 idiots can learn from Sachin, Rahul and Laxman about how to behave and value their place in the team.

SM:

No one is saying that Sachin does not innovate and doesn't have skills.....

Even Buchanan has said:

"In the position he plays -- as an opener of No 3 -- the T20 game requires not only the finesse and skills he has, but also the power and domination, an ability to take the bowlers on while being creative."

So he HAS admired Sachin where he has to be admired.... all he has also done is pointed out situations specifically related to T20.... which even Sachin acknowledges by the way, and hence has opted out of T20....

That's what I feel.... but I may be wrong.... it is just my personal view, that's all....

Little strange observation fro Buchanan
by sunilkumar mishra on Jul 10, 2009 11:48 AM  | Hide replies

One cud agree with most of what he said about Sachin but one comment that Sachin is not innovative to say the least absolute ridculous because I believe it is because he is innovative he has managed to stay for so long in the highest level of competitive cricket in spite of so may pitfalls in his career including too many injuries, A few of his shots doen the leg , like a paddleshot or jab or lifted shots on short lifts on the offside or plundering singles when many other geats wud be struggling are not only delight to watch but highly innovative even as recently as this year IPL or before. It is really ridiculous to see this observations from such a persong who was taken as great coach and very good observer of the game. I am pained to see his comments, Let me say I am not a great fan of Sachin's prolonged carreer undermining his achievements of his heydays.

'Buchanan' is a great innovator ridiculous enough to suggest 4 captains. A great coach to butcher up a team he coaches. A great demotivator to take the team KKR to the lowest achievement. Leave him alone and ignore his book. Let Kangaroos some of whom hate Indians off late - too few in number - buy as many copies that they afford and need for toilet papers!!!

Sachin and Sunil are not ones to be described as "some" of the Great Batsmen. They are world's genius cricketers ever produced as Bradman and Sobers. Buthers will never understand that

by nandadip ramchandra baraskar on Jul 10, 2009 11:44 AM  | Hide replies

Mr. Buchanan just turn back & see your no. of test & ODI it shows zero. Nobody select you as a Cricket player. Your record is Zero. Therefore, you have no right to say anything about the Legends of Cricket like Gavaskar & Tendulkar, Bhajji, Rahul & Co.

I think your memory is very short, just remember what Sir Don Bradman comment on Sunil Gavaskar & Sachin Tendulkar, rather he called these two legends to his place. Did he do so with you.

It is sure you are trying to sell your book in the international Market. Hope nobody will prefer to read the same. Hahahaha.

NRB:

If you care to read his actual statements (rather than Rediff sensationalized headlines), he has actually said Sachin is an all time great.....

As for Sachin's T20, he hasn't said Sachin is "not fit".... he has just mentioned Sachin might not be very effective at this stage of his career.... which of course Sachin too acknowledges by staying out of the T20, doesn't he?....

Finally, considering that you don't bother to read even articles you are supposed to be commenting upon, its no wonder you won't read Buchanan's book..... :)
