Ponting .. gratest batsman
by Ram on Jul 02, 2009 03:13 PM  | Hide replies

Ponting is undoubtedly worls's best batsman.
He is definitely greater than Sachin and even Lara. Unlike the two, he also led the Aussie team to great success, not faltering in his performance while doing so. That makes him better allround cricketer than Sachin or Lara.
Only point where Sachin scores is his useful bowling.

Order of precedence is :
1)
1.1)Sachin - Scored against every opposition at Ruthless pace. Then became a grafter as. Best adaptability.
2)Lara - The undoubted king of high backlift shots.
3)Dravid - There is only one wall in the world.
4)Pointing - Staggering average in test cricket.
5)Allan Border - The fighter batsman of his era.Similar to Javed Miandad in many respects.
6)Sunil Gavaskar - Taught Indians not to loose. The one and only little master

You can not compare Sachin with ponting.
Sachin is Genious of world Cricket.
Ponting is not even near to Sachin.

Ponting.. great.. huh!!
by Deepak on Jul 02, 2009 09:54 AM  | Hide replies

Are we talking of the same ricky ponting who tried all the tricks in the book to beat india? How can he be great when he cant take loss in the face. He is only a coward and a very stupid cricketer who has given nothing but shame to the game. As of today his stats might stand up there but the "spitter on his own hands" could never be even close to the greats of the game. He is a cheat and will remain so. My best memories of him was when he raised his finger towards umpires telling that he saw the catch was fine and hence sourav was out.. how low can anyone stoop.. and you call him great.. by no means he is not even a penny worth.

Are you talking about the same India that had no face to hide when they lost to a big team in World Cup (bangladesh) and the team that were driven out of T20 after much hump? Come back after Ashes, duddo.

Ponting's career
by aisakaisa on Jul 02, 2009 12:38 AM  | Hide replies

Even a primary school student would have won all the cricket series if he/she had the kind of talented players playing under him/her. Ponting is no great shakes. He is only a highly conceited player and nothing beyond thst. As a sportsman, he is the pits.

Yea, with more powerful force (indian T20 team) dhoni was unable to break his shackles in T20 for atleast more than once! With the kind of hype, IPLs, it is not possible.

Don't you think you need more than what you have on top of you?

Ponting is great
by Raman Shiva on Jul 01, 2009 10:16 PM  | Hide replies

He was captain of the Team that won WCUP twice(2003 and 2007)without losing a single game and Ponting has won soooooo much but he still doesnt dwell on all that and is trying to do something he hasnt done, what an attitude compared to our players who have lost more than they have won but we still brag they are all time greats..
We call Saurav a great captain one of the best etc,for what?Getting under steve waughs skin?losing the final of wCUP 2003 when he choose to field first after winning the toss?
We call Sachin the all time great when he couldnt win big games in all the 5 wcups he has played?
We need to follow the Aussie attitude and be hungry for wins wins more wins and not be happy with individual glory
