I wish all the best to the greatest Cricketer Karnataka has ever produced. The most artistic, humble, gentle, sincere cricketer this Country has ever seen.Nobody can forget his 97 against Robert & Co at Chennai, his 137 agaisnt the same Clive lloyds team at Kolkata and his 115 at Trinidad. All his centuries were eneded either in India's victory or a face saving draw.He is a gem without any parallels.Once again I wish the very best to the LEGEND>

I fully agree except for one sentence. Vishy is one of the greatest cricketers India has ever produced. He is truly legendary. But, never hug limelight like Sunny just because he was not a Bombeyite!
It was way back in Mysore when Srinath was just a local cricketer playing for Mysore Gymkhana but with great skills. Though his bowling ability was well known in Mysore circles, nobody had thought that just that is enough to attract the attention of Vishy who was Karnataka selector at that time. This talks the greatness of Vishy who appeared unexpectedly to everyones surprise to watch Srinath bowl at a local cricket game where I was also present. He made a couple of circles around the pitch, saw Srinath (babu) bowl from all angles and that is it .. next day he was in Karnatak Ranji team. This talks about the judgement and ability to take risk and experiment new ideas. The same Srinath became a legend later on, probably owes everything to Vishy.

U R Correct..Vishy is intelligent, shrewd and one of the most gentelman cricketer in the history of cricket
who was honoured by zia ul haq in pak in 1978-79. even pak players respected vishy in peak of rivalry. such was respect vishy commanded. we also remember him recalling a player(batsmen) when he was given out by umpire. can we expect such things now
Lucky to watch 2 innings the 97* at Madras and 137 at Eden Gardens Calcutta against Clive Lloyds 1976 West Indian Team.Such ARTISTRY,GRACE,NOBILITY AND STYLE of batting I have not seen (leave aside Laxmans 286 in Calcuttaand Richards 140 and odd in Brisbane )He was a master class pocketsize batsmen.I am sure we will not see another like him
Vishy's batting id a delicacy. Be it square cut, square drive late cut or leg glance. We can decide what stroke he would have played by simply seeing his photograph. His square cut and late cut were really gems. I dont think any batsmen, either current or older days could match his strokes. All the best for him
Vishy, was a true artist and a thorough gentleman. He never chased records and has delivered performances under trying situations when the team needed most. Congratualations and goodluck to you Vishy !!
