The Indian ODI batting seems quite solid now, not only are they quicker scorers but also have a lot of depth in Virat Kohli who was impressive against Sri Lanka during the chase with Gambhir. The key development for India now is Ravindra Jadeja and the 2 ODIs against BLD should help him establish himself because the Sri-Lankan batting was explosive. India's top 6 look strong enough with Gambhir at #3 and should be able to afford a spinner allrounder like Jadeja at #7. If not they can always go with Kohli or Yusuf for the next world cup preparation in the sub-continent.
No great quality ... If sehwaq plays the same number of games he will win atleast 500% more matches than Sachin... Who is just bothered about his own score
This shows Gautam is a great human. But it is a shame on part of sachin.Sachin should show such mercy at juniors but a junior showing mercy and sacrificying touch. A shameful act on record for sachin ?

Vaya moodu da korangu...
Sachin is a far better opening batsman than Gambhir. Though he is aged, he has vast experience and he knows how to move on with the game. Even Gambhir is evolving and moulding into a great opener for India. He will have his turn once Sachin retires. Till that he is to make way in ODI's only.

Ada Goyango karthick,
Sachin's most of the single digit scores and duck outs all happened when he batted as an opener, Sachin also owes a good record in duck outs and single digit runs.
Even if Aussie or SA had Sachin playing for them then no choice but push new comer to down order. Initially Sachin as well played in middle order so whats a deal if Gambhir bats at 3. In fact its a pivotal role which was played by Dravid for years. It is also matter of form and success. If we remember WC 2003, Ganguly out of form initially tried to push him ahead of Sehwagh and was not successful. So if you have better choice optimize it. Somebody who has done openers job for more years than someones first class career should be there till he wishes.
tendua learn something from gambir....gambir is the opening batsman unlike tendua who clicked as a makeshift opned in odis from a certain time...give chance to this youngester and let India win matches....why cant tendua open in tests ??? dont have balls for it...
so, once again, tendlia coming in the way of a promising cricketer..tendli started is career in the middle order..by chance, he got to open, which he did devastatingly..rest is history..now, he has grown old, matured, doesnt has the aggression..y cant he come down the order, may be 1 down or two down..look at jayasuriya, how is he handled by the lankans..so, its time, we put team above individuals interest..the delhi duo is a nightmare for any opposition on any conditions..let them open..
