Lankans are cowards...they were losing so decided to blame the pitch, they were offered
the adjacent pitch but they refused.

nowadays, batsman wants flat bed pitches where bowlers dont get any support. they just want to bang every ball even with their closed eyes, want to score 400 runs without losing any wkt. slowly that has become criteria of calling a pitch as good.

when a bowler gets some kind of help, batsman start crying, commentators start blaming curators, n icc start bashing ind. if batsman cant score runs, they term the pitch as bad. ridiculous. v hv to get out of mentality of unnecessarily guarding the batsman merely coz of too much commercialisation.

doent any bowler desrve any sympathy, cant v hv bowler friendly wkts? its high time, v gv good bowler friendly wkts n start considering them as good wkts.

What sanction?
by M Alem on Dec 29, 2009 05:42 AM  | Hide replies

There was nothing wrong with the wicket. Sangakarra and his team mates are just bunch of cowards. India could have easily scored 400 plus on the same wicket. India's B team will meet these losers in Dhaka next week and will annihilate them. India is by far the best team in the world in all froms of cricket.

you are kidding right. Delhi is famous for messing up infrastructure, especially sporting infrastructure. Its not just this cricket venue. India/Delhi couldn't hold the IPL so it was moved to South Africa. Commonwealth games are going to be such a mess. none of the big sportsman want to take part in the failed fiasco. Delhi is expert at messing up games.

Alem:

Correct. The world's best team recently showed us how to score 700 runs per match. :)

Aussies were lucky to escape the series defeat by 0-7. :)

If India had fended its full team instead of only the B team, Aussies would have lost the 7 match series 0-15... right?.. ;-)

5th ODI fiasco
by Bodh Ramdeo on Dec 29, 2009 04:12 AM

There are way too many chefs in the kitchen and not enough properly trained prep-staff, and the results are plain to see.
It's not DCCA's but BCCI's primary responsibility to pick the venues and ensure that the pitches meet the required ICC standards.
But this is chalta hai land- and just another example of the debilitating chalta hai attitude so prevalent in this land.
Ditto the C'wealth Games- had the head honcho of the C'wealth Games body not complained personally the PM, chances are, nothing would have been finished on time for the opening- other than perhaps the athletes village, which is the only project being totally constructed by private contractors and not by the stupid, inept govt babus and their useless, incompetent staff.

Keep politics out of this episode.
by Ramesh Kapoor on Dec 28, 2009 08:35 PM

The 5th ODI turned out to be an anti-climax to an otherwise a good series. Just because DDCA chairperson is associated with BJP, there is no point in involving with the party for matter of sports. BJP also rules other states where matches were played, so some of the malicious comments made by Amba should be ignored. BCCI should have ensured that the grounds nominated for the tests were in accordance with their by-laws and met the specifications as regulated. Any failure, as in this case, should be viewed seriously and the venue banned until improved.

We must stop watching cricket
by Bala on Dec 28, 2009 06:45 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Cricket Fans..
Cricket is a Wonderful sport but our politicians and big fats keep spoiling it.. They will never listen to you as long the money keeps pouring in..
Lets give cricket a break start following other less wonderful events too.
1. Formula 1
2. TEnnis.
3. EPL, UEFA champions league..
4. Spanish league..
Just watch an EPL match and you will really get what you pay for..
You will not see any commercial interrupting the match.
I really get irritated when Seeing a cricket match on TV. most of the time last ball or the first ball of an over is stolen.

Let's teach BCCI a lesson... Besides Sachin and Dhoni, lets also follow
Federrer, NDAL, Ronaldo, Shumi, MEssi, I can keep adding the other side heros...

Arun Jaitly should be thrown out from DDCA
by Amba on Dec 28, 2009 05:06 PM  | Hide replies

In my view DDCA is domonated by BJP worker like(Jaitly, chetan chauhan) and there in process to insult Indian cricket within International community.
Jaitly you have to resign from DDCA.

u e eight! politicians are fighting their turf wars in bcci at the cost of fans.
bcci should be reclassified as a commercial enterprise and made to pay commercial rents for various grounds and other facilities. delhi should be removed as test/ode/t20 venue for five years.
india should be warned that anything remotely close to kotla during world cup and india will be disqualified from further part in all international cricket for five years.

big sham by shameless cricket associations
by Ganesh Krishnan on Dec 28, 2009 05:06 PM

THERE IS LOT OF MONEY IN CRICKET AND PEOPLE LIKE SHARAD PAWAR AND ARUN JAITLEY, WHO HAVE NO BUSINESS IN THIS AREA ARE MANAGING IT. INFACT THEY HAVE MADE BUSINESS OUT OF CRICKET.
THESE GLUTTONS SHOULD BE MADE TO STAND AS BATSMEN IN KOTLA GROUND WITHOUT GLOVES, PADS AND HELMET AND THE WORLD'S FASTEST BOWLERS SHOULD TRY BOWLING BOUNCERS AT THEM.
PEOPLE WOULD PAY TEN TIMES THE PRICE TO WATCH THEM BAT OR RATHER WATCH THEM AVOID THE BOUNCERS
