goodbye scarecrow!!!
by SUJATHA KUMAR on Dec 26, 2009 01:55 PM

we dont need the scarecrow anymore, we need bowlers with muscles who can bowl 140 or 150k consistently and not once in a bluemoon..

finally Ishant dropped.
by Kumar Chakraborthy on Dec 26, 2009 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

I think commonsense has prevailed atlast. The selectors rightly dropped Ishant who is now below par. He should regain his form back and make a comeback. Sorry for Praveen Kumar. But Sreeshanth back is good news. He is the only lively Indian pace bowler who can compete with anyother fast bowlers. He may not have the speed but his aggression & body language can match anybody. If he is nurtured properly he can be a genuine fast bowler for India. He has talent. Already he has proven his critics wrong by making a sensational comeback grabbing 5 wkts. hayden would have been having nightmares on that day.Even Donald too who both rated Sree.as an average bowler.

Ishant has the caliber to become a very good bowler. Australian skipper Ricky Ponting to admit that Ishant Sharma is dangerous

You mean to say that other players who are going to Bangaladesh (including Dhoni, Yuvraj and Co) are not outstanding players. If that is true, I think the only player in the Indian team, who can be rates as outstanding is Ishanth. Please dont make such statements --

Dont forget Agarkar whenever you do analysis of Indian Bowlers. Agarkar is just victim of politics or he dont have God Father to enter in Indian Team. His bowling is always effective when India playes at Overseas. Some time he gives more runs then any other bowler but he is a wicket taking bowler

Correctly said. Sreesanth is the best bowler India has today. But for his pranks in the past (which he is now completely avoiding), he should have been in the team long back. I hope he will continue to perform well and do well for the country. Even Sunil Gavaskar rates him as the best swing bowler, he has seen after Richard Hadlee. Good luck for him.

see the comments of ravi shastri:
Ishant Sharma always had the talent. On a pitch that suited his style of bowling he rose to the occasion and bowled with good rhythm and pace.

In a lifeless pitch, Sreesanth became the man of the match. Can Ishant sharma do that? If your statement can be accepted, then we have to ask all the curators to prepare a pitch which suits Ishant sharma's talent. He will then bowl and take wickets. what a pity?

sorry, i am not blaming Ishanth. He did bowl well when he found a place in the team and continued bowling well for some time. But you should have noticed that his quality detiorated over a period of time. This is not good for Indian team. So, please take my comments in that spirit.

Following things need to be done if india has to become No 1
by sunil koul on Dec 26, 2009 12:25 PM  | Hide replies

1 .Find some good fast bowlers. At least one bowler who can bowl at 150km/h

2 Hire johnty Rodhes as fielding coach,

3,Include a phycologist in the team,

4,IPL should be held every 2nd year instead of every year.

5. Find a good bowling alrounder.

How come you can still have faith in this guy despite his poor form and bad performances in the past. Let him play Ranji trophy, regain the form and come back, if he proves himself. He cannot be automatically selected.

Sent A team for bangladesh
by sunil koul on Dec 26, 2009 12:07 PM  | Hide replies

I think we should sent our A team to play against bangladesh,, may b we can get some useful bowlers, Our batting is infact our strength but we cant be no 1 team if we cant defend 416 score or 300 score ,,among the present bowlers only harbajan and zaheer should be in the team ,, others should be thrown out once their replacement is found

Manoj Aam ka Achar:

Good one. Since Sachin is TIRING, we are seeing mere 150s and 100s from his blade. :)

Bowlers are really thankful for that mercy from God Almighty. If only he wasn't TIRING, they would have been regularly smashed to 300 per ODI just by Sachin, eh? :)
