no worries.there r always replacement for aussies.i dnt knw wat r u talking abt ponting is losing fast.winning an ODI series in india with a depleted side is no joke winning the champions trophy.infact he has crossed the tough times when he was nt upto themark .but he has shown much improved performance frm his side in last 3 months.which the selector wd look into it

oh joke is this - i had heard individual great performers from other teams but now only Bollinger, Watson and to some extent always reliable Hussey r performing. Gone are days when Aussie used to lead 30-50 points in rankings from no.2 and even a little slump kept them at no.1

yes.ofcourse.even a lame man wd knw tht maintaining the same kind of lead in the ranking is nt possb bcos of their transition period.so no big deal.still thy r a great tema and people refuse to accpet tht

It is not about winning boss. It is about fear, terror, winning margins, boring one-sidedness that make you no.1 Aus are currently losing all that. Everyone has started believing that Aus is beatable now.
"Though video replays were inconclusive -- there was no sound, but the edge appeared clear" the column writer was probably in the slip cordon or may be he was the one who took the catch...i have been watching live and i felt this technology intervention and review system has really made a mess of things...even the hotspot showed nothing at all...the whole human technology interface in cricket is leading to a kind of sophisticated puppetry....

not important that becoz like when SriLanka commanded respect when they reached 411 even though they lost. This WI team also command respect for their performance,
India have regularly won the Under-19 world cups almost comprehensively over the years. Aussie or SA under-19 teams had been fraile. Pakistan team had be better. Still India and Pakistan have been struggling for consistent, fresh, and match winning talent. Does it show the kind of grooming by the management and coaches concerned?
The reign of australia as no.1 for so many years shows the predictable, boring nature of cricket. This is exactly the reason why Indian commentators always say that cricket is unpredictable in order to sustain the interest of people. India has a 3rd rate team with just a good batting lineup(worst in fielding)which is so unpredictable that it can even lose to teams like bangladesh.
Irfan Pathan captained Baroda in Ranji Trophy Super League 2009/10. Irfan scored 397 runs in 5 matches at an average of 49.62 while he took 22 wickets at an average of 18.54 Baroda finished 4th in group B of Ranji Trophy Super League which has 7 teams. Surely Irfan would do better job at bowling than Parveen, Ishant and Nehra and he could also bat better than Jadeja and Kohli.
Munaf has also impressed for Baroda with 16 wikcts in 4 matches at an average of 22.37 In my opinon Munaf is better economical bowler and has more variation than Parveen, Ishant and Nehra. When Munaf started his career, he had few injury problems and fielding problems but in the past 2 years specially under the captainship of Shane Warne in IPL, he has immensely improved his fielding and attitude and has managed to stay injury free whenever he's played in IPL, domestic cricket or international. He should be played consistently than an odd match here and there to bring out his full potential.

there has not been any munafa(profit) from munaf till now and this pathan irfan is naamKApathan cannot bring aggression in our bowling. Our bowling was till now letting MS Dhoni down and now by the ban they have made Dhoni go down and out a well.

they wd like them as long as they dnt take wickts against them.
Do not compare Ponting with MS Dhoni, Graeme Smith, Andrew Strauss, M.Yousuf, D. Vettori, etc They all are great individual players. But coming to captainship all other captains have limitations as a captain due to lack of talent but you aussie fans only say that Aus are very good at creating bench players with loads of talent and fair selection. That means Ponting as a captain cant bring out the best out of them, heeheehoohoohaahaa
Aussie are struggling to be no.1, the years are long gone when they used to be 30-50 points clear of no.2. Allan Border, Mark Taylor, Steve Waugh all used old teams as well as blooded in new players and still being successful but Ponting losing some established players cannot create an unbeatable-unvincible team even though he has a huge bench strength. Bollinger has provided him with magical performance lately so he is at least winning some matches then too in the last 9 matches he had to struggle in 5 close matches. Compared to the old lion captains of Australia, Ponting as a captain has got a new name as chindi-chor, meaning snatching close victories from other teams instead of royal victories heeheehoohoohaahaa
