Just because Shashank Manohar, the President of BCCI, is from Nagpur, the match will be held there. Why this partiality? The match could have been awarded to Mumbai or Chennai. The Hyderabad Cricket Association is still not awarded a Test Match because they were told that since it was a new ground they had to hold atleast 7 One Day Internationals there to qualify to host a test match. This rule was not applied to the VCA. The 1st Test match hosted there, against Australia, took place within 6 months of the ground being commissioned. Once again I ask, why this partiality?

Now, when did the home team (Deccan Chargers or India) ever win a match at the Hyderabad stadium? The Hyderabad stadium is cursed. So just leave it.

The partiality is because nagpur boasts of one of the best stadiums in india.and Quality must comes before quantity,by the way i am not a maharashtrian.

You do not have to be a Maharashtrian to answer my queries. You may be right that Nagpur boasts of one of the best stadiums in India. Well, so does Uppal, Hyderabad

I don't think I would agree with you on this point. I am not from Hyderabad, but from Mumbai. But I have seen the facilities at Hyderabad. They are World Class
nagpur is the capital of vidarbh, vidarbh is not the part of maharashtra our languages is totaly different from marathi we r too good than hasty ppl of marathi than raj thakre, we r too good in behaviour. most important our kingdom was bhosle not shivaj and hosle was too superior , brave , secular and not dominator than shivaji maharan. hence we vidarbh ppl adopt his attitude of sympathy.

u r fool padmanabhan, u dnt know how much middle class workers can earn in a single match.
It is not possible to host an international match inside 5 days for other stadiums in such a short notice apart from Nagpur and Mohali,as they had just hosted an t20 match and both grounds are fully ready to host another match, that is the reason the match being shifted to nagpur

Why not Dhoni is trying to shift this match to his home ground Jamshedpur?
Jashedpur is a good gound and India has to prove that they are not always beatable at Jamshedpur ground.India has not won a single match in Jamshedpur......
Dhoni is a local boy and this will be great advantage for team...
Re: Re: Why not Indore?
by akhilesh arora on Dec 14, 2009 12:03 PM
Pankaj @ First: India has won a match in Jamshedpur- in 2000 versus South Africa.... Secondly: I agree with you that matches shud be played in Jamshedpur too being Dhoni's nearest homeground...but the Tata Steel is not maintianing the ground and its totally in a wrecked state...so no surprises that matches havent been allotted for the city..
Re: Whats Criteria..?
by fink fanther on Dec 14, 2009 11:51 AM
nagpur is the home town of BCCI president shashank manohar. thats the criteria ! expect nagpur (and other venues in maharashtra) to host a lot of matches in the next few years.
Re: Re: Whats Criteria..?
by V SR on Dec 14, 2009 12:02 PM
It is the readiness of the ground that decide the venue. Even though Sourashtra has accepted as venue, their readiness by the ground staff could not be confirmed. Nagpur is ready. For Bangalore stadium, it needs at least 7 full days of curing before the match can be scheduled. This is a not street game that anybody can pad up and go and play the game. As per ICC ground readiness is primary. Even though Green Park, Kanpur hosted the test match succesfully, ICC referee has sent strong words against the pitch.

i agree with you. i was actually having some fun. moreover, bangalore ground will be used for ranji trophy match. so it is impossible to schedule the match there. same with many other venues also. nagpur is free because there is no ranji match being played there.
but shashank manohar's influence is clearly seen in scheduling. many matches have gone to nagpur and surrounding cities in maharashtra because of him.
