India's No. 1 Test Ranking
by Manian Vasudevan on Dec 06, 2009 11:58 AM  | Hide replies

As an Indian, I am proud about India getting the No. 1 Ranking in Test Cricket as on date. However unfortunately, there are not much Test Matches scheduled for India, apart from a 2 Test matches against Bangladesh, till the World Cup 2011. So, when other teams plays more and gains points, India could lose the No. 1 Ranking.

This is something the BCCI should have thought about. Will they wake up?

India on top
by rishi raj on Dec 06, 2009 11:57 AM

Congratulations to Team India and all indian cricket fans!
There are many reasons which help us to be no.1, and i would like to discuss few among with you.
Despite constant performance of sachin, dravid and laxman we lacked many things but overcome fantastically.
1.Clear vision the GARY has.
2. Gambhir, sehwag, yuvi and dhoni consistent aggressive ,good run rate maintain batting.
3.Zaheer khan fitting into the shoes of javagal srinath.
4.Harbhajan and co. takes spin responsibility after anil.

Man of Series
by Prakash Subramaniam on Dec 06, 2009 11:57 AM  | Hide replies

The Man of the series given to Sehwag is wrong. Man of series should be given to the person who has performed consistently throughout the series and just not in one or two innings. In this case even though Sehwag would have scored the most runs in the series, but he was never consistent. I think the person who made this choice got completely wrong. To me the man of series should either be Gambhir or Dravid. Dravid will be the first choice because he had performed in all the innings of this test series.

Prakash, That is correct... But unfortunately we Indians tend to revel in kneejerk reactions.. We can never be 'middle of the road'. It has to be either this or that. Balanced unbiased thinking is beyond us. That explains why a gem like Dravid is treated the way he has been throughout his distinguished career...
